So, today the SFMTA votes on it's planned budget for the "fiscal emergency". As some of you may recall there was a proposal to raise MC parking meter rates to a whopping $1 per hour. Well, it looks like they're not exactly doing a line-item vote on the various proposals, and today (right now, as a matter of fact) they're voting on whether or not to enact the proposed budget.

I think it's fair to say that it's going to pass, as a matter of course.

Of course, the language re: moto parking is in there, and somewhat changed, but come July 1st, here's what you can expect:

So, for me, my parking costs go from $40.00 a month to $130.00. Way to encourage moto commuting, SFMTA! Especially combined with the ~15% paycut I've taken in the last 6 months.

Enjoy, folks. We now have (near as I can tell) the most expensive motorcycle parking in the western hemisphere. (maybe the world, couldn't find any info on Asian cities)

If it's true what they say, then it doesnt matter anyway, and if it's not then you just threw it away. The beginning of the end starts right about now, but we're gonna make it through somehow.
