I only took about two photos on Friday, and none on Sunday (too busy riding). Saturday was the big day, when Brian and I went up to Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park.
Here's the group at our first stop on Friday at the intersection of Hwy 4 and Pool Station Road. We turned off there to go bag our first goat roads of the rally, Jesus-Maria and Sheep Ranch. We got a little more excitement than we bargained for - not including the ranger trucks full of pot going the other way!
Where are Country Joe & the Fish when you need them?!
Saturday, Brian and I headed out around 9 to go find this place east of Gabbs. First we have the road to Gabbs, with and without KLR.
Next, we have some exteriors of Berlin, a turn of the century, silver mining ghost town.
Water in the desert, but not quite as epic as the woodchick version.
Our steeds await.
I had some fun with the abandoned machinery and the distant horizons.
From back when new plates came every year.
Top notch creature comforts. I particularly like the eye level peephole!
Lizards were our companions throughout our tour. Sort of museum docents.
The headworks above the mill.
There was a 1919 Dodge truck that was fun to photograph.
Interesting emblem.
More later.
