*edit: some of you local guys this might seem odd, but i mainly am sharing what i posted to the out of town folks to get a sense of NorCal, Thill, PTT and you guys. THanks ERIC

******

Last monday was my first PTT event and 1st time back to Thill since we came there to race in 2004 with my riders Jake Holden and John Dugan (we won the Suzuki cup race but dq'd due to 135.1 hp in a 135hp spec :mad) so i had not been to it in a while.....

So some know that EDR built and supported AFM's Michael Earnest this season and together he got the #3 Championship plate in our first year in AFM and with Michael. Well last AFM round we met a ton of good folks and were invited to come to the PTT event at Thunder Hill on Nov 2nd.

Like i said, I had not been to Thunder hill since 2004..and WOW! I mean what an improvement!, HOLY SHXT that place is awesome! SOOOO nice of a pit area(not cramped!), the track layout, the whole thing is just awesome!

I headed down to THill with KFG Suspension (GP North) Barry Wressell since i had to pick up a few bikes he agreed to lend trailer and tag along. We got there monday and it was crazy! I mean i have not yet seen a trackday that full all year in Cali, Oregon or Washington! It wound up being an amazing day, OVER 83 degrees of sunshine and tons of riders!!!

Ive done over 20 different companies trackdays and seen how they work/dont work and I loved how PTT ran a VERY VERY relaxed laid back, friendly event. No barking, no yelling, just friends all hanging out and having a good time! Anytime someone asked "could i get someone to help me out" a racer/instructor jumped in and said "sure, im pitted over here, lets hook up" I have seen many a trackday where the "instructors" are only there to ride themselves, not help and use the day as free practice...not the case here.

Now some (NW folks) would think "wow, it must have been jammed" NOPE! 1. They send folks out at a stagger, checking track, talking with the corner workers to see when is good time to let the next group out, 2. THill is 3 miles long and VERY open/flowing track (not like our LONG straight, tight infield NW tracks). 3. They have a TON of support/racers/marshalls out there at all times.

This many would not work at PIR or PR (NW)....no way, our tracks our bottle necks. But here at Thill and with PTT it did!

The day went off without any major problems, i only counted 3 incidents (1 guy should have known better, shagged his rear tire towards end of day, 1 guy ran wide and dropped his bike, and 1 vintage bike got a flat on the straight and ran off in t1) thats pretty amazing for all those riders!!

Barry and I had a great time, ill try to post pics up of it, the ones of #1 plate Cory Call doing 2 up wheelies down the ENTIRE front straight was cool. #1 Cory Call and #3 plate Michael Earnest give 2 up rides throughout the day and the look on folks face after wards was awesome.

The event was huge and only $150.... even in Cali... $150!!!

I gotta thank Michael and all his crew/racers/instructors...the rest of the story (night before when barry and some local racers went toe to toe with margaritas, or the night after when we heard the "pubic hair in helmet revenge" story with 40 of us at dinner, etc, etc) ...will be for another day. :rofl

Barry and I packed up the trailer, WEDGED is more like it..Barry "how many bikes you picking up" I said "3 i think" then at the end of the day we had EIGHT 8 bikes that guys wanted us to take back....Barry's trailer and my truck could only haul 6, EDR brought back 6 bikes in total, 5 new racers/customers/engine builds and it was great to know we went from 1 racer to now 6 and have 3-4 more interested. I promise by 2010 you'll see the big new EDR Trailer :)

I cant say enough about the "attitude" of these NorCal/AFM racers, all so cool, fun and laid back! The drive back was slow, i didnt even trailer whip anyone and barry did what he does best, slept! We made it back with a HEAVY loaded truck/trailer in only 8.9 hours from THill. Not bad. (a truck only could do it in 6-7 ez)

I really hope the Nor Cal guys will come up here next year, they are all so laid back and fun...must be the sunshine?? Also i REALLY encourage you guys to check out Thill and PTT...PTT runs an awesome event! We are headed back early 2010 for pre season testing at a PTT event and will post up the dates for you guys to all join.

GREAT TIMES! Thanks Pacific Tracktime!:thumb:

not really, but thats what the majority of racers race. mostly thou yes, its GSXR and R6's that folks race.

PTT is fuckin' aces in my book, not just as a trackday provider, but as general awesome people. :thumbup :thumbup

definitely a :thumbup for PTT!
that was the most people I've ever seen at T-Hill.
and pretty much everyone on the track was very cool to ride with.
not once did I get stuffed on T5! :)

it was an excellent way to finish off my track days for this year.
lookin' forward to next season!

It was for sure a good day. It was a good change to see that big of a turn out at a track day. Almost looked like a afm race weekend there was so many people there. Big :thumbup to everybody that went, I thought there was going to be a lot of incidents through out the day but there was not many. I was so tired by the end of the day, I think there was a couple times that I was out on track for an hour straight, helping people out and getting my bike's suspension to work better (Thanks Barry!). Ran out of gas around 3:30 and then started tearing my bike down for EDR to take back. Finishing the day off at Casa Ramos with everyone is always a good time. It was good to see everyone and now I can't wait for next year. It was nice meeting Eric and Barry, we'll see you guys when we all make the road trip to come pick up our bikes:thumbup.

every single non open trackday i've ridden has been with PTT... michael and cory are two very skilled riders and are awesome people to learn from and be around. same goes to all of the other regular PTT staff.

nice bikes, gl to you in 2010.

This was my 2nd time on the track and 1st with PTT. Just like everyone else, PTT was great!!! I was highly impressed with the high turnout and how PTT staff kept everything organized. It could of been a cluster @#$% but they spaced everything out. I got a good days riding in and felt very satisfied at the end of day. $150 was an awesome deal as well. PTT :thumbup
