Ohio valley mall security VS people taking pictures

Who is worse? The power tripping security guard or the half dozen people that take pleasure in provoking her?

This country disgusts me....

I see some citizens doing nothing wrong- then standing up to and questioning authority. And rightly so.

They were simply observing. Taking pictures? Please. :nchantr No harm, no foul. The security guard douchebag escalates things needlessly and then doubles down on stupid. :wtf

If the people were in fact trespassing, the smart move would be to back down and call for backup. Duh.

The idiot security guard will get shot someday unless she changes her ways.

i would've left. i try hard to avoid stupid.

too much of it these days. you argue with every stupid person and that's how you'll spend all your time.

what do you get by arguing? nothing.

I was a security guard when I was 18-19. I remember them telling me "You're there to simply observe and report. You're a visual deterrent only. Don't try to be a hero and physically get involved."

In a situation like that, if it's private property (which it sure doesn't look like it), then you tell the people they are trespassing and have to leave. They don't leave, then you call the cops and let them handle it.

Just...sad. Thank god she is ONLY a mall cop, or something tells me Miss MMA would have been shot to hell.

But yeah, I'd give them all idiot awards.

Some people just wanna use what little authority they have to feel important.

Its illegal to take pictures on a malls property?
I bet she's always wearing her "officer" uniform off, even on her days off.

So. . . .any bets as to whether or not Pauline Blart has an application pending with the local PD?

Second bet. . . do they accept her?

I can see her using her sworn powers to roust the local middle school students when she gets assigned as a school resource officer.

Yes it is in many of them. It's private property and they set the rules. Several years ago, read about a semi-pro photographer arrested for this during holiday season. Was just taking pics of the folks out shopping.

It's not that it is illegal to take pictures. It is a civil issue and a trespassing issue. A mall is private property and they all set up rules of conduct. They don't want people taking pictures of their facilities for security and possibly other corporate / financial reasons. A private business can deny service to anyone and ask them to leave the property for failing to follow their established rules. If they don't leave when security or property management requests them to they can be arrested for trespassing.

All that aside, that security guard had some kind of power trip coupled with absolutely no training. That was pretty sad. Unfortunately, that's what $8-10/hour buys you. :rolleyes. Maybe even less money in other states.

Some jiu jitsu would've been helpful at this point. Citizen had her in a bunch of positions she could've armlocked the mall gestapo.

Both are citizens.

But yeah, the lady in shorts was trying a bunch of stuff. I was hoping at least she would hook up a sweet submission hold, but she didn't. Instead it was just lame all around.

LOL Some people just don't know when they do not have control over a situation.

To be fair we didn't see what happened before the video. That crazy mall cop could have been telling them all day to leave.
