Not the first self driving accident involving a motorcycle. I saw a lane splitter get hit by a GM cruise a few months back.

Some states already recognize the far left as passing only.
I wish CA would do that.. at least I think I do.

Having someone feeling proud of / or oblivious too holding up traffic in the fast lane because they are not speeding gets my goat. They are making the conditions waymo dangerous than that should be.
nope. Passing on the right keeps traffic flowing. Can you imagine being jammed up behind a mile long line because someone refuses to move over? How many times (in other states) do you see someone get ticketed for not yielding to faster traffic (i.e. not moving over)? Keep my ability to pass wherever I need to please

If we had keep right except to pass laws and enforced them, we could safely have much higher speed limits. Even unlimited in places.

He wasn't saying require passing to only be done on the left, he was saying stay out of the left lane if you aren't passing.

If you do enforce keep right except to pass laws though there's less reason to pass on the right, and it's reasonable to prohibit that. Exceptions in both cases when traffic backs up.

In most states, people stay out of the left lane except when passing and the drivers are more courteous and considerate.

California is 'special' when it comes to drivers, and not in the good way.

We have the occasional sign on a freeway that says "Slower Traffic Keep Right." I enforced that twice today.

That may be, but the worst drivers and behavior that I've encountered anywhere in this nation have mostly been in CA. There is a thorough lack of courtesy and 'me first' here that makes driving around here suck.

I've driven through Denver and south several times about 4 years ago, didn't really notice anything to report.
