Practice is 1pm - 5pm. Gates open earlier but I believe staff will still be setting up and performing track prep in the hours before practice.

I’m thinking B group or even C group is best for my skill level. I’ve only been on knobbies in dirt.
The 2017 rulebook: http://supermotousa.com/wp-content/u...7_rulebook.pdf indicates that you need to tape the lights and remove the kickstand, and swap for water/wetter (vs antifreeze).

The web site: http://supermotousa.com/rules-and-regulations/ says that safety wire and catch can are optional while the rulebook above says they're mandatory.

I don't know if there are rule differences for SMUSA TT vs normal SMUSA.

Will the water wetter, safety wire, and catch can rules, be in effect for the TT Day?

I just wanna ride for the practice day and give the dirt track a try.

Pretty sure they wouldn't go by those rules being it's a dirt track.

The following is speculative and should by no means be taken as representative of SupermotoUSA in any way, shape or form.

I don't know about the surface of this track so take this with a grain of salt. If its hardens into a blue groove in places, it will be very important to make sure nothing is draining or leaking on to the track surface. If the surface is a cushion, which seems likely (Oh Lordy in Heaven, please let it be a cushion) fluids have less impact. I would still expect the jumps to be pretty hard packed unlike an MX track. SupermotoUSA can be forgiving in tech for first timers if it appears you have made some effort to prep your bike. A dab of silicon sealant on any drain plug or filler cap is a good idea for first timers if you don't drill or safety wire.

That said, its always the riders responsibility to bring a safe bike to the track meaning all bolts and nuts are tightened correctly, controls are working properly and nothing is going to fall off or present a danger to yourself or others.

Again, this is my opinion and does not represent the views of SupermotoUSA or anyone else.

I'm not making any promises Michael Day has to undo.
