IMO, Yamaha has bigger issues to even worry about "cheating" better at the moment.
I do think they have more issues, but removing the IMU from the equation could help. Reported by Matt Oxley, Yamaha is trying to do the whole Magnetti Marelli thing on their own. Ducati and Honda hired Magnetti people while KTM and Suzuki have been sending techs to Magnetti HQ on a regular basis.

all that just implies that Yamaha is failing at the regular setup of the spec software. I really doubt MM is helping the other factories "cheat" their ECU

Not implying cheating. It's a fair game and Yamaha has chosen not to consult with the industry experts at Magnetti.
It's probably that "Japanese Way" of wanting to do everything in house, but it's causing their team effort to suffer.

When I interviewed Hayden in 08 I asked him what would be the one thing you change on a MotoGP. The Kentucky kid said remove the electronics and let us race.

just FYI, this rule change was on the books and approved by the GPC way back in Feb, before the season started. Yamaha continuing to suck may or may not have had anything to do with it.

Just recalling. One of the best things I got to do that did not involve my feet being on pegs.

Rins signs a deal with Zook through 2020.

We should be hearing a bunch of silly seasons news in this press conference

Aleix Espargaro signs with Aprilia for two more years. Good for him because he can stop playing musical chairs and work with the same team for a few years. And, it was mentioned in the press conference that his wife is supposed to give birth to twins very soon. Maybe he'll be twice as fast as Cal?

Petrucci livened up the Press conference as usual.

This race should be exciting. Lots of scary bits and plenty of passing opportunities. He who has the biggest stones shall obtain glory.
