You really need to consider publishing a Woodschick coffee table travel book. Pictures of the places you have been the people met interspersed with a few stories. No need for specific details about how to get anywhere, just the inspiration to get out there and look for the adventure.

As always

Thank you for taking us along on your ride.

Took a few photos of the Opera House and the courthouse in Eureka the night before while we were walking off dinner. I'd reached my limit for photos in a post (it's 20 for mere mortals...I clearly have a photo problem and should be allowed, oh...I don't know...40, maybe?) though and couldn't include them. So here ya go...

We woke up pretty early, had our free breakfast at the hotel, and then skated out of town. I wanted to make some tracks today, maybe ending up in the Sierra somewhere for the night. At least closer to California so the next day going home wouldn't be so brutal. We dropped down a valley west of Eureka and made our way through the mountain ranges. Not a lot of photos on this leg of the ride (I can hear the cheers and "Yayy!'s" going up in the back of the room!) but we did make a few stops along the way.

If you ever need to make time in a valley a powerline track will usually get you where you want to go...

The desert does not give up her secrets or her beauty easily. Sometimes you have to look closely...

More water in the desert. Lucky cows...

It was kind of hot and sticky, and we knew there was water year round in Big Creek so we headed up the canyon and found this secluded little spot...perfect! It wasn't deep but the water was perfect!

We soaked our shirts before gearing up and heading out of the canyon. It was still hot, and after riding for awhile we started rethinking trying to get to California. We decided to stop here on the edge of a dry lakebed...

This looks good...

After setting up camp and having a bite to eat we went for a walk to catch some of the beautiful light...

We did a bit of stargazing but it was pretty chilly on the valley floor so we turned in early. We had a 350-mile ride waiting for us in the morning. I'm glad we slept well.

Eric's ready to go...

I wish we were taking this road all the way home instead of slabbing it...

We headed for home, only stopping for fuel in Fallon and Jackson.
On the long ride home I thought about the things I'd seen on this trip, and how long I'd waited to see them. I find almost all of the places we ride by looking at maps and picking something out that looks interesting. I always tend to have a vision in my mind of what these places might look like. Most of the time I am proven wrong. I certainly was on this trip, and I'm very happy about that

Thanks for coming along!

Thanks for the kind words, CJ I'd love to put something together like that, but I'd never be able to winnow the photos down enough to actually get something published that doesn't look like War and Peace
I'd need a cutthroat editor.

I'm still waiting for a shared adventure with you, BTW...

Cabrito!! Thanks for checking my story out. Nevada is pretty awesome. It always feels like the last frontier to me. More so than Oregon or Utah, anyway. It's just so desolate. One of the reasons I keep getting pulled back there, I guess. We saw one side-by-side with a family of four in it the day we exited Hot Springs Canyon, and one land owner in the canyon itself, but that was it. We never saw anyone else while off the highway. Pretty incredible!

Then go do trips like this! Don't wait...do it now! All it really takes is a warm sleeping bag, a map, a full tank of fuel and a healthy dose of curiosity. And coffee. It takes coffee

Thank you, John! I can point you to the route when I get home next week and can look at my map. In the meantime get yourself a Benchmark Road and Recreation Atlas for Nevada!
