Sure, if he wanted to prevent Karel Abraham getting the ride, Jarvis and Yamaha might entertain him, otherwise ain't gonna happen. You wouldn't see vinales in the team if Rossi could just snap his fingers and veto any rider decision. Dorna is not going to let Jorge just take his ball and go home. And yamaha will love to have Jorge back, especially if Dorna is pitching in for what is surely to be a greatly reduced salary. "See? He couldn't do anything with Bolognese tub of shit but as soon as he's back on our smooth steed he's winning races again!"

Good points and you're not the only one thinking this way.

Jorge would have to be offered a real solid deal. JL didn't like sharing his data with Rossi. I doubt JL99 would like doing all the development work and then handing all the data over the both Rossi and Mav. Mav is desperate for a clone of a Lorenzo-set up M1.

Mav will be lucky not to get Lowes'd between now and 2021.

Maverick is not going to get Lowes'd.

Rossi doesn't have the clout to override Yamaha. Yamaha did themselves a disservice by continuing him through 2020, and you can't too well blame them, but they won't make another mistake involving Rossi.

I still see Lorenzo on a MVDS Yamaha.

This is why you're not running a multinational corporation. Yamaha will give Vale a new contract as long as he can finish in the top ten every once in a while, which he could probably do until he's 75 or 80 if he wanted to. He's a cultural icon, a living legend. Dude sells more bikes than anyone else on the planet.

I can't fault Yamaha for signing Rossi for additional years. Bias aside, the guy is still a solid top 5 and in the realm of one supplier tires, fixed electronics, and 5 manufacturers it justifies a spot on the grid.

if Rossi waits long enough, he'll just become what Dani is today.

Dani's upcoming firing or new contract will give us some indication of how a factory team feels about a very popular underperforming ex-title challenger.

It’ll be interesting to see how this conversation goes a year from now if Yamaha has only logged a single flukey win between now and then.

Also in what world would Jorge sign on with a place holding satellite Yam team? He left Yam as reigning world champ as he wasn’t getting the respect he deserved. Not sure where that leaves him??? I guess I’ll place my money on him being at Suzuki in the end.

At least all this nonsense keeps thing interesting as MM destroys all

No kidding, captain obvious. I said you can't too well blame them. Thanks for the dumbing down.
