Oh boy ... I like SBK more and more ...
I like and I watch motogp most of my life since the days of Kevin Schwantz. But I found myself falling asleep for some races when there were almost no battles.
I bought the WSBK videopass this year to try it, out of curiosity. There have been good battles between Rea, Van der Mark, Lowes, Davies, Melandri, Sykes, Laverty ... ... and while waiting for the mid-season break to be over, I am watching some old SBK races. And guess what ? The 2015 SBK Race #1 at Misano ... watch the battles that Chaz Davies delivered against Jonathan Rea and his own team mate Davide Giugliano towards the end of the race ... I have become Chaz Davies's instant fan !!! Last edited by WorldSBK; 07-31-2018 at 09:08 PM.. |

A race fan is a race fan is a race fan.
I dig it all really. WSBK had some of the best a few years ago. It is still good, but more factory teams would make it sing again.

I still think BSB gives the best racing spectacle.

I think that's correct.
I use sling TV and bought a sports package because it had been and this other channel called motosport.tv, the ladder has all sorts of awesome motorcycle content. Just this week it had some of the Italian Supersport series, I've seen Spanish cev Moto 2 and all sorts of other good stuff. Definitely worth the $10 a month. As for wsbk, I did not renew my subscription this year because it was so boring the last few years. On the other hand MotoGP last year was a fucking brilliant season, with tons of awesome racing. And we've also had some very good racing in GP this year as well. I keep up on world superbike a bit, I haven't been very excited by the races this year and Rea's continued dominance. |

Here are the races I see consistently offering the best racing: Moto 3, BSB SBK, MA SBK, MA Junior Cup.
These days, I'll tune into WSBK, before MotoGP. Sometimes, Moto 2, MA Supersport offer decent racing, but not consistently. Alike a lot of you, I don't like watching parade laps. Alike a lot of you, I'm all for some close racing and good battles. |

wsbk is a snooze fest and has been for a couple years now. The racing in Motogp has been pretty good. I get that MM is way ahead in the championship but theres been some drama along the way this year. Both 16,17 seasons were good as well. Now the 800 era... talk about parade laps

![]() I, like many, want to be wow'd. You know, the race(s) that keep you at the edge of your seat, from the drop of the green to the checker..... similar to the Assen race. Or a race that totally was unexpected - A Yamaha (underdog) in WSBK finishing on Top of the Box. The ones that stand out, that you want to watch over, and over, and over again. That kind of racing. I guess, my bar is set a bit too high ![]() ![]() Last edited by Manimal; 08-01-2018 at 01:37 PM.. |

The last good Golden Era SBK season was 2002, Edwards v. Bayliss.
Somebody put up a MotoGP BRNO thread so I can vote for Rab- er- I mean Rossi. Last edited by scootergmc; 08-01-2018 at 02:22 PM.. |

aaawww...
![]() ![]() ![]() Guess I've got to agree slightly but it's just the KAW's have been up on everyone last few years haven't they? ![]() ![]() They have been getting closer to Rae, & Sykes has been fading too. Well if they kept adding Kilo's & Kilo's of lead weight to your bike every couple races you'd slow down too. Hasn't anyone but me noticed the others are catching up this season? I have to wonder how far of a lead Rae would get it they took all the lead weights off for one race.....half a lap? ![]() ![]()

Don't see how even if you're a "Kawasaki Fanatic" you can't understand how boring Rea's dominance is. It's certainly not Rea or Kawasaki's fault, per se, but it's killing the series. |

Sure ... if folks only watch the front runners in races ... World Superbike is as boring as motoGP when Rossi won 5 years in a row, or when Doohan won 500cc 5 years consecutively.
MM93 is probably doing the same thing than Rossi and Doohan to motoGP, as I believe he will dominate motoGP like Rea dominates World Superbike. That's not how I enjoy World Superbike or motoGP though. When there are battles among many riders even at the back of the pack it's fun to watch. The kind of fights between Herrin, Beaubier and Elias delivered recently in MotoAmerica is what I enjoy to watch no matter who will win the championship. The battles between JD Beach and Valentin Debise in MotoAmerica 600cc category are interesting too. As I already mentioned in my earlier post, the battles that Chaz Davies delivered in 2015 WSBK Race 1 at Misano were more fun to watch than some motoGP races. Understand about Rea; he should be in MotoGP. His talent is a notch up on everyone in SBK. But seeing KAW win a lot has been rare over the decades so us KAW fans are in heaven these days... ![]() I also have been pretty bored w/ManiacM's dominance. It's happened before as mentioned above. I just wish for the years of yesterday....Rainey, Lawson, Schwantz, Spencer....Roberts/Sheene....etc. Those were the best years that I can recall...
