I was disappointed with the performance but still think Tomac's "beast mode" beats or at least is equal to Herlings. (unfortunately Herlings beast mode is ALWAYS on! ) Plessinger was leading but crashed and I heard he was hurt after that. Barcia actually came from somewhere outside 33rd on first lap to 9th in the last moto...that's a hell of a charge in those conditions and I forgot...he had a 2nd in the first moto!. Tomac had a broken clutch cable and raced a whole moto without using the damn clutch! (I thought it was stupid to go with the new bike instead of the bike he had raced all year). They all had a bad day... but I think they're better than that. The bright side I think was Kevin Windham's performance...40 yrs. old coming off the couch and he putting in an awesome ride in really sketchy conditions. They actually made the A main!

Windam was awesome. Wish we could have got a glimpse of him. I get it though.

Barcia was solid. I did not know Plessinger was hurt.
Great hair!!

Such a cool event.

Plessinger being hurt isn't confirmed. I heard it from someone who was in the pits though ...and it explains his results. (heard he took a rock to the eye.)

Ouch.

That would suck. I have not gone into the moto news to look at the weekend. Info could be there. The Pmsn is talented for sure.

They definitely had some tough luck in Saturdays qualifying races. AP was leading before crashing and finishing 11th. ET Dnf'd due to an "elecrical" issue, but Barcia did hold it together for a 2nd in the open class on Saturday.

I didnt hear about AP's injury. If anyone on the team, I expected him to shine in those conditions. Hope it doesnt linger as I am excited to see him on the 450 this season. Great rider with some real personality.

Also didnt hear about ET's clutch issue. Was that on Sunday or was Saturdays "electrical" really his clutch?

Sunday's performance

United States 49 (6th place overall)
Eli Tomac 4 Race 1 (MXGP + MX2) MXGP Kawasaki
Eli Tomac 7 Race 3 (MXGP + Open) MXGP Kawasaki
Justin Barcia 9 Race 2 (MX2 + Open) Open Yamaha
Justin Barcia 13 Race 3 (MXGP + Open) Open Yamaha
Aaron Plessinger 16 Race 2 (MX2 + Open) MX2 Yamaha
Aaron Plessinger 18 Race 1 (MXGP + MX2) MX2 Yamaha

Windham rocks!

Musquin did not want to ride.. he wanted to rest is what I heard.
Paulin is just as strong shown by his results.

Not quite right...
From RacerXonline

Quote:
Marvin made it clear he did not decline an invite—he was operating under the assumption he would be on the team. He explained this in a post on his Facebook page last week.

Quote:
Hello everyone,

As you might have heard already thru the video posted by the French Federation today, I’ve had the unpleasant surprise to find out that I wasn’t picked to race the MX of Nations for Team France.

I think it’s now important that I say a few words about what Jacques Bolle, President of the French Federation, said at the team announcement were the reasons and factors they looked at in selecting the team this year.

First of all, the motivation… For the record, the French coach came to America for the Red Bud National and spoke with me there to make sure I was motivated and available to race Des Nations. I confirmed I was 100% motivated and that being teammate with Dylan Ferrandis would be great! Also, what greater motivation is there for me to perform than to race in front of the world here in the US, on a track I just won? If that’s not motivation enough then I don’t know what would be!

Jacques Bolle also talks about the importance for the rider to be healthy and performing good around this time of the year. Seriously, what do you want me to say to that… ? My results speak for themselves. I finished 2nd in the AMA SX Championship this year and I’m currently a title contender for the outdoor championship with three races left! I won Red Bud this year and I’ve been racing at Red Bud for the last 8years…..

I’ll save everyone time and not go into details about the planning and logistics that have already gone in to be part of that race from either my side, my Red Bull KTM teams side, the factory, my sponsors and or the rest of my crew….

To me it’s sad to be overlooked again especially given the race is going to be here in the US where I compete almost every weekend for the last 8 years now and against many top riders that I am sure will be selected on the US home team. But I do really want to thank everyone who has and continues to support me and thank all the French, American, and all the other fans who have shown their support for me after this announcement. It means a lot to me.
