I was saying that it's not all about "what we do" ...just that "we do it"......and I said the wheelies "WE" ride....I do em to big C.

I'm all about those who stunt...shoot... it's entertaining risky and something that not everyone can perfect...it's an ART form in my book same as being albe to hit better and better lap times or draggin a knee

Prime example: I enjoy watching Nasty puts that big beast of a Harley with full dressings in the air that is fucking sick!... or watching the trials riders do crazy shit unimaginable or Portformance (Matt) throw a Green ex 250 (GEORGE!!!) up 12 going down steep ass Gough st. in the city...

Re: Generalizations about specific riding groups and barf

I think of myself involved in the sport as a whole. Teaching, wrenching, moto-x, trail riding.. My whole life revolves around motorcycles. (shh.. my gal thinks it revolves around her)

It's so much easier on yourself when you finally get off the hater bandwagon and just ride your damned bike..

I used to stereo type at one point and I probably still do now and again but it just means your insecure about yourself or your skills. Or you don't have enough information to form a good opinion.

I've learned recently that I have almost nothing in common with some other riders. Just because we ride, it doesn't make us comrades. I like to wave to all the riders I see, but I know that riding is possibly the only thing we have in common. Some riders don't speed... ever... do you believe that? It's true... really. Seriously. I'm not kidding.

So your saying that everybody is different, but somehow the same, but different, humm.

That maybe if everybody just relaxed, let go of the things that excite them, it would be a better place, humm.

I say, hate an individual and when appropriate, kick the crap out of him

Hating people you don’t know only shows you have no wisdom or self control.

Not in the last two decades (honestly!) but I have:

ridden a Vincent while wearing only a pair of skinhead boots all the way from the Mormon Temple to Berkeley while moderately intoxicated on various things, at about 3 AM and no one dared me to do it

ridden a monster (3 gears) wheelie up Telegraph Ave on a '67 Spitfire and was sober at the time

raced from LBL to Grass Valley (and back) on Grizzly/Skyline on a regular basis

played chicken with the east bay regional park rangers on a dirtbike then they got helicopters

buried the tach on an '82 GS1000SZ for about three straight minutes, in fourth gear on hwy four, at four in the AM on the fourth of July but the speedo only went to 80 mph so who knows how fast that was

been extremely critical of others who have done things not even half as ridiculous as the above, but only after I became a BARF member and started wearing a one piece aerostich and white Arai helmet

replied to many threads that I shouldn't have.....

Thanks for the reminder that I am alive only because I am one lucky MF

I guess you could stick me in with the new riders since I don't have that much time under my belt and I ride what some consider to be a starter bike (because it's so cheap).

I completely agree with what has been said here. I feel like I have more in common with anyone on two wheels than I do with anyone on four. When I'm riding I get The Wave from most other riders, no matter what they are on, and I return in kind. Yesterday I was lane splitting through rush hour traffic in The Maze behind someone on a sports bike - he moved into an empty space and let me pass. He didn't have to do that and I wasn't riding his ass, but it surprised me that a high end sports bike would want to slot in behind a slower (and much older) cruiser. It just shows that you can't make any assumptions.
I'm with you man, I ride a Buell Ulysses and a Husqvarna SMR. They stick out like a sore thumb in any parking lot. I think that keeps me from being stereo typed, or just typed as a whack-o.
I do love the bikes and that's what draws me to this place. I thank you all for making it what it is.

Seriously though....

This is my Motorcycle.

There are many like it, but this one is MINE.

My Motorcycle is my best friend. It is my life.

I must master it as I must master my life.

My Motorcycle without me is useless. Without my Motorcycle, I am useless.

I must ride my Motorcycle true.

I must ride straighter than my enemy who is trying to pass me.

I must pass him before he passes me. I will...

My Motorcycle and myself know that what counts on the street is not the wheelies we ride,

the noise of our exhaust, nor the smoke our tires make.

We know it is the laptimes that count. We will win...

My Motorcycle is human, even as I, because it is my life.

Thus, I will learn it as a brother.

I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories,
its lines, and its powerband.

I will ever guard it against the ravages of weather and damage.

I will keep myMotorcycle clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready.

We will become part of each other. We will...

Before God I swear this creed.

My Motorcycle and myself are the defenders of my country.

We are the masters of our enemy.

We are the saviors of my life.

So be it, until there is no enemy, but PEACE.
