I notice that the term "lane splitting" is used rather than "lane sharing".

Does that mean that I won't get corrected on BARF if I use "splitting" rather than "sharing" in the future?

I tried very very hard to use the term lane sharing. Chris Murphy is the head of OTS. He likes "Lane Splitting" because it's the more common terminology. If the head guy says lane splitting then we go with lane splitting.

Not so much. Many at CHP were against it. Most at DMV were adamently against the guidelines. As mentioned, its been a hard fight.
