the sea shell jumps? thats like adding glass to each shovel full of dirt while making jumps! Cool jumps though. I would jump w/o jeans and a couple long sleeve shirts!

yuuuup the seashell jumps, i go there everyday just to fuck around maybe get a little air, its the best spot for me to ride since its only 30 seconds from my house and actually its not all shell, there is spots with sand and spots with mud/dirt and its also fun to smash through all the trails, and its nice that its so secluded that no one even knows im out there until i come on out!

is there any place near the Santa Cruz boardwalk to ride dirt bikes? I'll be there for the fourth of july weekend and my nephew wants to ride. I don't see any OHV parks but how about other parks like National Forest parks?

Hollister Hills will be your best bet if you have 1/2 the day to explore it.

Metcalf is probably just as close in the San Jose foothills. It has its pro's and cons.

Metcalf has fast singletrack and slow doubletrack (rocky and boring) and it's 1/20 the size of Hollister.
Hollister has fast and slow singletrack and fast doubletrack

i'd go for Hollister and slide around on the doubletrack, then find some singletrack trails to get you by. They opened up a whole new section of singletrack, you could spend all day riding in the new section. Its all fast and easy singletrack. Blue square singletrack despite their diamond rating.

should be about 40-60 minute drive from SC depending on 4th traffic. Definitely worth checking out, probably the top 10 OHV parks in CA

Thanks Kylemtncruzr, but I was looking for something a lot closer. We've been to Hollister and Metcalf. Thought I could find something close that we could do a half day without getting into too much trouble with the rest of the family. I guess we'll have to stick to mountain bikes.

If you like moto then you will love 408. The prep is always perfect and it is safe for all levels of riders.

Practice is broken up on busy days to Pro and Int./ Vets. and Beg.and the minis get their own practice as well.

Hope to see some of you at 408MX.

I might be biased (duh), but I'd say that places like Metcalf (Metcrap! Luv that 1) & Carnigie only really have 1 thing goin for them. They are close. Thats it!

The best place to ride is where there isnt anyone else. A newb doesn't need any other distractions. The problem is that for you Bayarea guys, you gotta drive a couple of hrs to find something like that.

If you wanna place like that, come on up to the ElDorado Nat. I can put you on dirt rds that run for hundreds of miles.
