Your best resource for local autocross is probably http://www.baautox.com/forum/index.php. I'm not on there, but I probably should be.

Your best bet to get started will be a bone-stock car, but don't worry if you've already got some mods. Just don't expect to be competitive in whatever class they put you in, especially if it's an SCCA event. Their classing is ridiculous.
I most likely wont be competitive for awhile. It's a good thing that the next event is in april lols, tires are balding. Waiting for the semester to start before buying some lighter rims+new toyo's.

11.30-11.40 on pure street rubber through the mufflers , 10.80s on slicks through the mufflers. Still needs chassis work ( traction problems)

Not exactly quick , but except for the Hemi replica scoop , the Weld wheels nobody looks twice at a car currrently in primer. Until I fire it off that is.

Built primarily as a 'money car' aimed at the import crowd and the 'buy a crate 502 and think it's the fastest thing in the world ' Chevy crowd.

Lots and lots of fun , just never ever attempt to drive it in the rain.

Oh yeah, I had 69 Mach1 for a couple of years too..Nice car ..
Of all the cars I had and sold, I regret selling the 'Cuda..That was a mistake even though I had way less money, time and blood in it than I did my tubbed big block (440 Stage 6 heads Lunati roller, built by me)Dart..Actually, I miss that one too Oh well..:|
I had a Tube Chassis 71 Challenger for a while too but never finished it so I don't count it..

I have a '69 Mach1!! Had for for nearly 13 years now. Need to paint, interior, engine tune and if I want to get picky maybe a new set of axles. The 600 electric choke edelbrock carb is probably too small for the .40 over 390 with alum rpm heads BUT I was young and building it as a daily driver. If I can find a deal on an RPM intake I might change it up a little. Problem with that is RPM is a taller manifold and that means different motor mounts.....domino effect.

OH, please put the original hood back on. My 2 cents much better than Chevy cowl induction, either way sure sex. Great car.

Yeah I would but it now has a 600hp Chevy Big Block in it, and even the 3" cowl the drop base air cleaner barely clears it. If I wanted to go with the ram air hood again I'd have to have a new LS1 motor without a high plenum like the old motors use.

Thanks!

I'm building the Mustang for Popular Hot Rodding magazine but it's my car. The Camaro I bought when I was 15 and changed everything since then :P

If it doens't turn I probably wouldn't own it. Unless it's a truck... That's ok

Some pictures of my cars that I posted earlier in this thread. Black GT350 is original unrestored matching #'s car. Red GT350 was built for the track. 57 Belair is for fun. Sitting on bags with an LS2 out of a 06 vette.
