Wet and wild this morning from Walnut Creek to SF. The first half was the worst. Caught a big rain cell in Oakland. Couldn't see the ground at all so I pulled off at Broadway and contemplated my navel under the overpass for a few minutes to let that pass.

Who says supercorsas aren't good rain tires?

6:30 this morning Vallejo to Berkeley. Dark & pouring rain, traffic at 80 - 90MPH on some stretches and they can't see lane markers. Been doing this route 12 years, know every rain groove and pothole, doesn't help if you can't see 'em. Hate commuting in this stuff. Whoever said waterproof socks, agree they do help.

Oakland Hills to San Leandro around 9am. LOTS of standing water on 980, kept it a gear or two lower than normal to have the torque to punch through the surprise puddles when needed.

Riding on PR4/5 tires. Never had a problem with them in the wet.

I ride to work and back every day - rain or shine.
Past two days have been interesting going over the Richmond Bridge.
Learned that my Rukka gore tex waterproof gloves will start to leak through the seams and get totally soaked in a 45 minute ride.
Learned that cagers don't give a fucking shit even during a downpour and will still try to crowd me out from lane splitting.
Learned that Dianese gore tex is the shit and will keep you warm and dry.
Good times.
Stay safe.

As I’ve been driving around the last two days I’ve been thinking “I wonder which BARFers are riding in this?”...

Now I know. Much respect to the die-hards

Send them back. Gore tex warranties this kind of failure. That's why we pay the premium to have their label on our stuff.

Hey so who's out in it today?

Did my usual V-town/Oakland rush hour slog on the old Bandit riding a plugged rear tire. Water ran down my sleeves into my glove covers and my lunch box soaked through. Never a dull moment!

Full on rain this morning as I left the house at 6:55am but the wind wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. Managed to avoid the 'stich wet crotch syndrome - arrived at work by 7:30am dry and ready to go . We'll see what the evening commute has in store for us .

Coincidentally, I had to drive the truck today so I can bring large items home this afternoon.
I thought of this thread when I was on the freeway with my wipers going full speed and decided that I was ok with driving.

Plugged tire? Seems normal for a commute bike to me. Mine is plugged. Previous rear had 2 plugs.

I wore my old Arai this morning, guessing it would get less water on the inside of the faceshield than my Bell . At first everything was so fogged below the tinted strip at the top that I had my head down and was looking through that. The rain stung when I tried with the faceshield open. And it didn't clear the inside for maybe 15 minutes. Gonna apply dish soap before the return trip.

Didn't see another bike over the 50 miles. If that's happened before, it's very rare.

It was raining almost as hard this morning as it was at Buttonwillow on Sunday. Still a fun ride on both counts.
