Is this not an ideal event to attend if I'm new to dirt biking and looking to get an idea of KTM's xc/-f line?

Concerned about riding an MX track with limited off road experience.

I've never ridden Hollister but looking at pictures on their Facebook page it looks like you could stay on terrain that suits your skill level without too much trouble.

It's like a amusement park you get in line for the ride When that ride is over you get in another line for that ride If it's a popular ride it can be a 1/2 hour wait .
MX bikes are quick 2 laps on the track and get on a new ride .

Proper Riding Apparel including but not limited to:
– DOT approved Helmet
– Gloves
– Jersey
– M/C Pants No Jeans
– MX Boots No Work Boots
– Goggles
– KTM staff can revoke riding privileges at anytime for any
reason deemed necessary

So... if you have gear and know how to ride, no big deal. If you are a newb and can’t fake it you might not last long. But hey...

How limited? Have you done laps on the Metcalf motox track? Or any track? Does limited mean you've only ridden 500 off road miles, or does it mean you took your v-strom 1000 down a 1/2 mile dirt road.

Let's say someone has a ~10 ish year old dirt bike, been out with their buddies 4-5 times, ridden around Hollister/Metcal/Carnegie without doing anything too stupid, and is thinking about dropping $10k-$12K on a new KTM, this is a great thing to do.

But if limited means you rode a buddies TTR125 around a camp site for 5 minutes, then this is probably too challenging ... plus, I don't think you could really evaluate which bike you like best.

You could also call the Moto Cafe guys up and talk with them about it.

0 hours on something with a motor, thousands by pedal.

Matt at Ace didn't seem concerned about me being completely new, but he's a sales guy and I'm sure the Moto Cafe guys are as well.

How else do I compare a 250 to a 350 4t? Can't demo something from a dealer with a long hill climb. I'm not a typical tiny 150lb motocross rider. I want to find out if the extra oomph of the 350 is worth the coin over a used 250.
