Not really true. People didn't like the fact that he was straight up aping Rossi.

I kinda gave him a pass because he was young and doofy and maybe didn't know any better. And he was beating Pedrosa.

People don't like him now cuz he's a douche. His true douche colors came thru.

Yeah, so you're telling me the leg color thing and all his goofy post race antics were not inspired by Rossi? None whatsoever... right?

This is what delusional people think.

He is also Mr Flawless Technique. If you can't appreciate what he does on the track, and how he does it, when his got his mental bits together, I don't know what to tell you.

Racing is not a high school popularity club, despite all the man-boners for Rossi around here.

Isn't a man-boner just a boner?

Gigi's bike, 2 different race winners in 2016...

So even when Casey was riding it the bike got worse, Gigi come's in and it's a front runner with 2 different "B" class riders. Lorenzo won't dominate, but he'll win races.
I think that has more to do with Duc nailing the 800cc motor right out of the gate whereas the other manufacturers had to play catch up in 2007 and 2008.

Flawless for qualifying. I'm not sure it's "flawless" if it depends on Bridgestone-level front tire grip, a bike completely designed for smooth stable ultra high corner speed, and no one ever getting in front of you to skuttle said corner speed.

I think everyone appreciates what all of these beasts do on the track, especially the aliens. Personality counts though, we're humans after all. And Lorenzo, well, he thought he was the heir apparent to the king, and basically lost his shit when he got hit with the one-two combo of Marc Marquez followed by a resurgent, revitalized Rossi. So much so that he walked away from what is probably, on average, the best bike on the grid, to get on what is basically a tub of shit.

Of course it is! If it wasn't nobody would watch the post-race interviews, the cool down laps, the pressers....nothing but green flag to checkered flag on track action. But personality counts. And sullen, aloof, defensive assholes who can't handle reporters asking pointed questions....well, nobody really likes them much, Rossi fans or not.

Wow, I just noticed how far back Folger has pushed himself on the seat pad. Does everyone do this?

Probably only under hard braking to keep the CoG as far back as he can.

its a common technique for hard braking to keep the rear down as much as possible.

I'm just thrilled to DEATH I'll get to watch a race this weekend. It's like that time I didn't have sex for a whole year just to prove a point.
