... Dahlia's Indian Scout ...

... lots of Indians on the front of Dahlia's Indian ...
this one is on the front fender ...

... I'm told by my betters that
you can quickly tell a Chief from a Scout
by looking at the front forks ...

... on this bike the shifter is on the right
side of the bike for the left-hand throttle ...

... and Kalle's usual-suspect bobbed Indian Chief ...

... Kalle made the exhaust from a Chevy 350 header kit
and fabbed the rear luggage rack himself ...

... notice on this bike the shifter is on the left side of the bike
for the right-hand throttle ... apparently a rider can set-up an Indian
for the throttle on either side of the handle bars ...

... on Saturday we rolled over to the Beale Air Force Base
for the air show ...

... NASA’s Aero Spacelines Super Guppy …
still in active service ...

... nine cylinder radial aircraft engine ...
think this was a Coast Guard bi-plane ...

... a 1943 Fairchild M-62A-3, with
a 200hp 6-440, an in-line six cylinder inverted engine ...

... a wooden prop ...

... a DC-3 engine ... maybe a Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp ...

... there was a Hellcat at the show, flying
around with a P-51 ... the Hellcat definitely
had the Pratt & Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp,
an American twin-row, 18-cylinder, air-cooled
radial aircraft engine with a displacement of 2,800 in≥ (46 L) ...
really cool to hear the different glorious sounds
made by the Pratt & Whitney and the Allison in the P-51
(according to the announcer) ...

... the air show was free and super-awesome ...
hoping to be able to head back to Smartsville next
year for a fourth R.A.D. Ranch party ...

see you around
the campfire,

... you already know Kalle from
BARF Baja 2017 ... he’s my source
for all things vintage and Baja ...
Windsor and Sac'to Scott are vintage guys, too ... ask them
about the NorCal TT later this season, would be a great
shakedown ride for the 2019 Moto Melee ...

Kalle was recently
the AMCA Yerba Buena Road Captain ...

... I gave a heads-up on BARF Vintage Cafe last year but
was asleep at the switch this time ...

... Cabrito is doing a dual-sport
Sheetiron shakedown up near Stonyford this weekend ...
we could bore him with vintage bike talk ...

As a side note, there is a store front on 29 in St. Helena with radial engines that run for a fee.

The Pratt & Whitney R-4360 Wasp Major was a 28-cylinder four-row radial piston aircraft engine designed and built during World War II, and the largest-displacement aviation piston engine to be mass-produced in the United States.

... read the engine was from a B-36 Peacemaker
and the owner will start it for $100 ...

As engine fires occurred with the B-36's radial engines, some crews humorously changed the aircraft's slogan from "six turning, four burning" into "two turning, two burning, two smoking, two choking, and two more unaccounted for."
... awesome airplane ... six radial engines, four jet engines and
a total of 338 spark plugs ...

I wonder why this shop hasn't been a stop of a Berryessa GP, like Busters, or the burger shop down the road bit.
Every Oct when I stay in VV & Calistoga, I check to see what is new. Seems a waste for just one spectator, group $$ should make this easy.
