Loop #2 for next day: loop around the bay and moto tour around SF

Start at San Jose, Hwy 9 to Skyline to Half Moon Bay, up hwy 1 to SF. From there, make a moto tour of SF without getting off the bikes: Lombard, Chinatown, maybe financial district, Embarcadero, Fort Point (ok, we are getting off the bikes for a pic there), then up the GG bridge to Marin (another pic there) then ride hwy1 to Bolinas (never rode Bolinas, looks twisty) then back to 580W, hit Heart and Dagger for food/beer, then head back.

Still missing a few things here. Never rode Bolinas, need to know if that's a good road to ride. Also need to find that nice road in Oakland that overlooks the bay area (forgot where that was at... grizzly peak?)

Well, this time of year, why not do a loop in the Sierra Nevada passes?

I'm not familiar with the Sierra Nevada passes, what would be a good loop to do?

nope

you'll have better luck hosting them on BARF itself or on imgur or something vs trying to use your google account (in my experience)

It all sounds pretty awesome to me, as I have never seen any of it I am not much of a tourist, I don't need to see all the popular attractions. Alice's, Golden Gate Bridge and Laguna are definite must-sees though
Good company, good drinks, good food and good riding makes the perfect trip! I appreciate all the effort, this is going to be epic !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This looks like a good alternative, I can even make it part of Mt Hamilton ride. What's the difference between an 88/4 and the 120 to Yosemite?

I'm assuming anything Sierra/Yosemite related is traffic hell over a weekend, so I'd have to do this Thu or Fri... ?

120 through Yosemite is pretty but has WAY too much traffic, and you have to pay.

It also has far more law enforcement.

Is traffic that bad on a Thu or Fri?

We can stick to the speed limit on 120. Plenty of other twisty roads to have fun. Is the scenery worth it or is it not any different than 88/4 or any of the other passes?

Sometime I'll have to spend a long weekend doing all of those passes...

Update: looks like Ferguson wildfire will force us to go north. I read that there are no road closures on 120 but pointless to ride if the whole area is covered in smoke

I would not recommend the Sierra right now because of the fires and heavy smoke. I understand Yosemite was evacuated and is closed at least until Sunday.
