Sounds like a waste of money since all that's needed for a speeding conviction is a trained officer's visual estimation anyway.

There's a few of those. Pretty sure window tint, lighting equipment, and exhausts all have sections like that.

I just thought it was odd to state it as an outright ban. Such as, CVC would ban you from having window tint on your bathroom shower door, if window tint was illegal to have at all on your street-bound car...

I could be wrong, but don’t most lidar and radar units tell you they are being jammed also?

These things never made sense to me. LEO is on the side of the road shooting radar/laser. Everything is normal til he aims at your car(equipped with whatever jammer/scrambler ect) and his shit goes screwy. Guess what? You're getting pulled over anyway lol. I don't know if that's how it would really work but that was my thinking when it came to these things.

Curious, what type of car has this installed?
The shifter arrays are poking through the front and rear grilles. Not super obvious and blend in pretty well since everything is black.

At the dealership I work at, thereís only one kind of vehicle that would have a system that expensive on it. And Iíll leave it at that.

I guess not, but if youíre <500ft and not getting a reading then it should be obvious something else is happening.

One doesn't have to fix the violation listed on a fix it ticket. They can just pay the fine and continue running with their illegal/broken equipment.

Thatís good to know. And come to think of it, Iíve probably done that in the past for not having a front plate.

Itís more expensive to leave it... fixing it when itís correctable is the cheaper option.

Technically...but then there's escalation.

Not as big as a concern in the bay area where you're unlikely to be stopped by the same cop in a short period of time. I had written someone a fix-it ticket in a rural area for window tint, followed by a non-correctable ticket for window tint 3 months later, followed by a violation of 24004 VC for the same window tint 3 months later, and the next step was going to be jail.
