Bay Bridge Bus/Carpool lane?

I was wondering if any of our locals could shed some light on this. Are "carpool eligible" vehicles allowed in the bus lane that bypasses the toll plaza at all hours? Or only during the carpool hours? Are normal/non carpool eligible vehicles ever allowed in this lane, such as on weekends when they are allowed in standard carpool lanes?

Thanks in advance.

there are a few different carpool lanes on the Bay Bridge. the far right ones are bus only, carpools ok during carpool hours. during non carpool hours, you can't take anything other than a bus through.

the lane on the far left is a normal lane during non carpool hours, but isn't accessible from the direction you're coming from

Yes.
Only during carpool hours.

This also goes for motorcycles, of course.
I got a $590 ticket for "improper use of preferential lane" by a CHP who was camped out to the far right when I went through one day at about noon.
I had no idea.

Wait, really? I've been using the far right lanes on my moto for years without issues, thinking they were fair game as carpool lanes all along. Have I just been lucky all this time?

Six signs; that's how many there are explaining that lane. That ticket is written so much that the Oakland traffic court has copies of one of the signs hanging up in the court room wall, as well as a photograph of the lane.

Yes, but at "65" mph (not like any one goes 65, let alone the 55 limit on the bridge) it's preferable to be watching the road, not slowing down causing accidents while reading details on signs. I don't believe that ticket is written that often, because 4-5 days a week for two years I was using that lane with my fellow dumbasses with zero issues, even when there is a CHP parked on that side.

I eventually read the signs and they appeared to be open to interpretation which is why I asked. I use the regular carpool lanes 24/7 on a motorcycle, so this seemed similar.

Your reply seemed a bit grumpy, but thanks for adding information.
