True he doesn’t own half. He is the driving force behind it. Giving up 1/2 his fortune isn’t fair. She can live the lifestyle she’s had on a fraction of what the law says she’s owed.

What's fair got to do with it? The law is the law. We don't know what she'll get or how they will divide it. She might get half his net worth but not the stock. She might get half the stock but he'll still be the head of the company unless she wants to do something crazy like electing her own board members. She's got just as much riding on the future success of the company as he does so what makes you think their settlement will have any adverse effect?

Laws change all the time making things illegal that were once legal and vice versa. Yeah law is law and fairness is a matter of opinion, which everyone has and is entitled to give.
I suspect she'd be less concerned about the future success of the company than the guy who started it and runs it. She's set for life doing whatever she does, why would she care anymore than any other shareholder who made a killing and took the money and ran.

I don’t think Jeff Bezos is too concerned about the money. He has said in the past there will be a day when you lose everything anyway.

i personally prefer to go to a brick and mortar bank than an online only bank.

some of the comments made in the reviews are true. citibank's online experience is antiquated. because i bank with other banks it just feels like they are not investing to improve customer satisfaction in technology nor in the look and feel in their branches.

but to lock $20k into a cd at a bank doesn't take much time; closing out the cd account doesn't take much time either, the old fashioned way (in person). i have used them in the past and have no hesitation trusting them to grow my savings.

Yes, no problems. No problems funding the account. No problems withdrawing from it. No problems accessing it online, and no problems transferring money to it each month. No problems with history. No problems with statements, I download a .pdf of each statement every month. Plenty of records that I have made the deposit, and that it is there. Some of the complaints are silly: "I opened an account at 1% and it is now 2% and they don't automatically give me that." Doh. All he has to do is move the account to a new one.

I have no problems with them and recommend them.

As to problems, Citi bank lost $1500 from my account, and it took ten days to get it back, and way too many calls and visits. It was teller error. That's why I moved to Cit bank, and the fact that I earn more interest in one month at Cit bank than one year at Citi Bank.

Edit: I'm dumb and read too fast. Didn't catch CIT Bank vs Citi Bank

Last couple of days I keep thinking I should sell all my equities, then look up from work and the market has closed. Thankfully higher.

What do you think will happen in 2019? Why do you think that?

I think you should hold onto all your equities unless the market enters a period of transitional negative trending volatility followed by a short period of incrementally advancing equity value with concomitant pricing! Or sell, either one. Or both.

Ask yourself "what would Warren Buffett do?"

Ignore the hit he took on APPL. He's allowed a mulligan every once in a while.

He may own only 16% but he's the largest individual shareholder with nearly 80 million shares. Per investopedia, the next largest shareholder only has 91,000 shares
