I thought I read a review on the 2011+ GSXR-750 that the shock was carried over from the previous gen, which was noteworthy since it got the new Showa BPF forks. If so wouldn't this also fit a 2011+?

I'm not sure. Maybe they meant carried over from the 2008+ gen.
