congrats rebekahlynn.

I decided sorta last minute to go (race 2 on Sunday).
Had some fun, only one crash, but rode too hard for my current conditioning. My body is still hurting 2 days later.
But i'm probably the only one who comes back from a race and thinks "dang, I gotta get in better shape", right?

hammerstime, I had 6 practice starts (the rows in front of me) to figure out my dead engine starts. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as even my 3rd place start had me blinded by dust by turn 2! I gotta practice more next time!

Congrats Rebekahlynn very nice job. Keep it up and you'll be in the B class very soon. Now just relax on the grips. I know it's easier said than done. The next race will be easier as you will be more comfortable.

I rode Diva Pro on Saturday in the Beginning Womens class. It was a blast! I scared myself a few times but finished three laps. Not bad for the oldest woman out there by at least 10 years.
I need to work on dead engine starts when I can’t reach the ground. I was more afraid of falling over at the start than being last off the line. I also need to work downhills esp rocky, loose, and rutted.
All in all , I had so much fun! I can’t wait until next year!!!

Kathy,
I've seen lots of people use rocks, step stool and even their bike stands to help. Just make sure someone picks it up before the next row is released.

Not surprising, it was 25 degrees at one point, when I was driving in Sunday AM.

I know Iíll have to practice that. I was so worried about falling over at the start, I went for a sure thing. I started in a rut where I could balance on my right leg keeping the bike leaned and kicking down into first then taking off. That made for a slow start but I didnít tip over!! That was the goal.

congrats to you Cathy for getting out there and doing it!
Thanks to hammerstime's reminder to get a good start, I, for the first time, remembered to bring a chunk of 4x4 lumber to stand on for improved kicking. Standing on something really helped me! (turns out I found a rock out on the start line that I preferred over my 4x4, but at least I remembered! Next time I might even remember to replace my old spark plug before the race, too)
Wish it had snowed on Sat night...
