No, the 250 2 strokes are "XC-W TPI" or "XC" or "SX".

The 4 strokes are "EXC-F" or "SX-F" or "XC-F"

For a while in Europe (and not sure where else), there were no "XC-W" and "XC" 2 stroke off-road models but they had "EXC" 2 strokes. So you might find reference to those.

In the USA, the xc-w bikes were labeled exc in the 90's. For some reason, the initials changed to xcw .
For quite a while, Europe just uses EXC or EXC-F. . I'll tell ya, my '92 EXC felt like an SX compared to some '04+ bikes.

That or you are talking like 2004 or so. They called the 2 strokes EXC way back then.

KTM has used a variety of names over the years but if it has a -F after the model its a 4 stroke. MXC, EXC, XC, SX are all 2 strokes; exc-f, xc-f, sx-f are all 4 strokes; been that way since the 90's after the RXC sereis (620 4 stroke).
