Yep, my pins were all intact, and I added tons dampening via vhb tape.

I have been out of town the last week so nothing new. I am selling my '13 enduro r plastics if you're interested. I have both upper and lower fender shrouds, white tail fender and new orange/black front fender.

Yes the '14 should bolt right up with no modifications.

OK, the '13 + Enduro R plastics have the decals injection molded into the plastic, so they are not removable. just a thought, since the '14 plastics have a huge ENDURO lettering on the side.

Best bet is do what I did. The '10 SMC decals on white plastics. The whole kit is around $500.

Bstone has $40 rebates on a set of S20s right now.

Figure why not have some fresh donuts on the bike?

Not to thread jack but I want to keep the thread going. I have made some progress since picking up my bike a couple weeks ago. Stan's bike was inspiration for me.

I still have quite a few things I would like to work on but it's getting there. I haven't been able to ride it much because I tore it apart right when I got it and between work and waiting on parts I just got it back together. This bike is almost as much fun to tinker with as it is to ride.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics

After

Very nice Brett! May I ask how much you paid for the exhaust guards?

Also, I think jumph4x has some heal guards

I know they look like the carbon guards but I just rattle canned them with a gloss black engine enamel. We'll see if it holds up but it looks good for now.

Small update:

I got a pipe from John H. here on the forum -- it's LOUD, but half the weight of the stocker.

I went ahead and loaded the Akrapovic map (a bit richer) and the bike runs well. No stalling, or fueling issues.

What i'm most excited about is that TuneECU released an Android app! I promptly bought it and now i'm able to load maps, check diagnostics, and reset error codes right from my phone+custom TuneECU cable+USB OTG cable.

It's a bit slower than the Windows counterpart, but I know from working in SW, that they can speed things up with updates.

Here is what will probably be my last update. Currently looking for a new project.

Been playing a lot with dialing in the mapping/throttle, and I think I have it down using TuneECU. Very smooth power delivery from low RPM to redline. Throttle is crisp and not snatchy. Finally feels like a proper FCR carb. Throttle hand now feels connected to the wheel.

I can share with anyone my settings and/or help you flash your 690 bike as well.

Since I pumped about 4% more fuel across the trim, I opened up the airbox with an EVO1 lid. That and the exhaust, the bike can finally breathe!

With cosmetics and engine dialed in perfectly, I started to look at the suspension. I always felt like the SMC turned like a truck, and from the factory the springs are very_very_stiff. When I sit on the bike, the front forks only sag about 8mm. I backed out some preload in the rear, and had the internal fork preload shim stack removed. I am now riding on the sweet spot of the suspension. I always felt the valving was right, but just way too stiff. I moved the forks above the triple 15mm exactly, and the bike has zero stability problems up to 100mph.

I also had fresh motorex 5wt and new oil seals installed. The forks are very nice and plush--and best of it--it turns, and feels very planted now. I had RMC moto rebuilt my forks. Very awesome guy!!

Anyways, it's been fun, but like I said. Looking for something new now.
