Oohh, signed up with Wendy to be a Master Checker at nationals.....I asked her what that is! I found out that each section has a puncher, a time keeper (you have a time limit to get through the section) and a checker. Donna will be the timekeeper, not sure if the girls can work a section due to age. Also looks like we can sign up and ride so I'll ride on one day and check on the next. Any of you guys going to ride it?

I will sign up to help. I'm not good enough to ride it, but being able to perhaps explore Boreal on a moto sounds interesting.

Pat and Sherwood are the main guys to contact about helping, there's a link on the website. I know they are trying to work out insurance coverage for the prep days in the weeks before the event. Since Boreal is a commercial zone we are pretty limited in where and when we can ride, mostly off in the cross country end and down low by the freeway, least that's the way all the events have been for the last couple of years. We need help so any time you can devote will be appreciated for sure.

Checking both days, never considered riding, sure we'll get a chance to check out the sections before or afterwards.

Me likey very much. Don't think it will be here for Stonybarf but right after.....Anybody wanna' buy a 2017 Vertigo 300 combat?

Right now RYP is waiting for the approved VIN's from Scorpa then they can assign CA VINs, then the bikes are legal here. It would be nice to have Sherco/Scorpa as real players in the trials' scene here.

Rode the backyard today for a couple of hours, getting better at hopping (both ends) and just feeling my pegs in general. Got some good holds coming off the low small end of the big log, so that;s coming along. Like to be able to do it predictably, now it just happens sometimes and catches me off guard.

Went over the small end of the big log backwards a few times. That's about 1/2" from being a total endo, so close you pucker hoping you didn't compress the front too much. Only endo'd once...lots of wood chips make for a soft landing

Gonna ride some more tomorrow and Monday, then it's off to Stonybarf and some work in the creek!

Thinking of getting a Sherco or Scorpa ??? Love the way Martyn's bike looks, Matt's Scorpa is Ca red sticker not sure how he did it. I'll see you Sat morning up there but just for the day. Jealous you've got a nice setup in your yard, I'm working on finishing mine.

Supposed to get it late this week, early next week. I was so enamored with Matt's bike; you can see to the other side above the head! Suspension is the same as the vert, less techy, Matt said he has 330 hrs on his with zero issues. The guy at RYP seemed pretty sure this year would get a sticker too, he has submitted the euro vins and is waiting for the CA vins to be given. Donna also found a 2017 125 evo factory beta, hopefully it will be here in a week or so too. She rode Erica's and immediately was in love with it.

For sale: 2011 GG 125 txt; 2016 Vertigo combat....: )
See you at Stony, I'll scout the creek for some fun stuff and bring my tape. Guess I should get some of those cones too....

So are the Sherco and Scorpa identical bikes except for colors, branding, etc?

Impressive to have that many hours, ridden that hard and no problems. Hmmmm.

Yeah when I heard that it got me thinking for sure. Matt doesn't abuse his stuff but uses it hard! We talked about the handling etc, he said he rode Martyn's Sherco and said the Scorpa turns better. Both turn much better than the GG but not quite as tight as a Beta; that's basically where the Vertigo is.

Pretty sure that all the components are the same (factory models) between the two with some minor frame geometry variations. Wheelbase is the same so it must be head angle or something. We will find out pretty soon, bike should ship this week and be here next week.

I did the work party today, clearing brush and stuff like that. Then I did the trials school with a bunch of SI/2 line students taught by Sherwood. I really struggled and I'm thinking of riding the 3 line at my first event. I've only practiced once since last year and since I got sick and had surgery.

Glad you got to go. I'm in a similar place. Havent started my bike since oct and I've lost a lot of strength/confidence since the collar bone break. I did however replace the radiator fan blade and radiator cap yesterday. Planning to give the bike a bath, change the oil, and clean the carb today so it will be ready to go.

Now that I'm out of work I can practice all week at home for just the cost of fuel, or at the club for the cost of fuel plus truck gas.

I think I figured out my gas tank/petcock leak. I was leaving the petcock lever in the reserve position, not off.

Got Monty up and running. Fresh oil, clean carb clean bike! Did a couple laps around the yard. Not sure why I didn’t think of this before but I’m going to take the bike up to my moms burned out lot to practice. Nobody lives in the neighborhood at this point so I bet I can get away with it for a while!

Cool! Get out and ride it. Sounds like you found a good spot, that's what's so great about trials, you can get some good ride time in without going too far.

Got a tracking notice; new bike should be at the local ship hub this Thursday.....Have to spend a couple of hours setting it up and swapping springs then I can RIDE IT!!! It will be a long weekend in the backyard I guarantee.
