No certainly not, nothing could stop a rider that had pinpoint accuracy at 100+ mph and with malicious intent.

A good brake lever guard can help to prevent accidental contact when bikes get close during tight races.

Obviously. Fenati's incident had nothing to do with a brake lever guard, so why even bring it up in your sales pitch?
