Just a quick trip... (edited: both vids up now)

I've been semi-actively looking for an Aerostich suit...
I've also been jonesing for a nice weekend trip...

This weekend, the two desires came together

JackEM had just the right suit down in San Diego, so I packed some overnight kit and headed south. For the trip down I took I-5, so there's no photos of that. (although I do think the Diablo Canyon Nuclear power plant is pic worthy.)

But instead of heading back via the fast route... I went this way

So I started off sunday morning at the bottom of crestline hwy.


There's a couple video's that I'll add once youtube finishes their maintenance...

but that led me to here




At the lake I talked to a ranger, since I was lost, and he put me on the path to...


which is also a cool spot if you like trains


That right turn behind the bike leads to another great section of twisties. But my vid camera was dead...so I'll offer this google map pic

Those were fun roads!
Good thing too...because for the next million hours....




There was some cool stuff along the way...like this solar power plant


But for the most part it was me, the new suit, and the nothing



Finally came to a town worth stopping...


But only just barely



But at least they didn't extend my visit


Then back to the nothing...
this time, featuring mountains in the distance!

It would be a long time before the mountains came closer...
But the view was getting better




Only in little bits though

Finally reached Mono lake


But I couldn't turn west yet...Tioga pass (hwy 120) still closed


so I had to continue north

Finally! hwy 108, Sonora pass.














Not much needs to be said about that other than, GO THERE! Beautiful place.

and finally, what 1100 miles of insect roadkill looks like

I'm gonna be washing that thing for a month!

Great photos. That is one serious windscreen you have. Perfect use of the Concurs.

However, I have to point out that they have these brown trucks with UPS on the side...but then we wouldn't have these great photos and you wouldn't have had such a great ride. Not to mention testing the Stitch.

And I wouldn't have been able to try it on before purchase. Not that there's any shortage of demand for aerostich stuff, if I needed to pass it on.
