any and all
I have attached some pics of our exotic race SRX. We are selling it and want to see what kind of response we get locally before we post it on fleabay or others.

The bike is set up right now very simply as a road race bike even though the only other one of it's kind is being raced on flat tracks of Texas. There is an extra CDI box, and extra cylinder and some miscellanies engine parts. The engine is new, and is tricked out with all the best stuff. In the top end, massive piston, titanium valve caps and keepers and a big cam...everything is new. The base of the cylinder has been strengthened using a solid beautifully machined aluminum plate; the head and cylinder bolts run from the top to the base of the cylinder and into the plate. The engine oil is store in the frame. The bike will come with delta rollers for starting as there is no way it will start by a simple bump start with the compression this motor has.

The head has been heavily re-worked and the intakes repositioned into the downdraft position utilizing the FZ 1000 CV carbs. On the bottom end there is a light weight Falicon rod and the crank balanced by Falicon. Oil galley's have been relieved where possible. The bike has run once but never ridden, we know it runs and is very responsive the way it's set up. Not shown in the pictures is a lightweight custom Rotax exhaust.

The custom chrome moly frame is based on a mid 90's TZ 250 and built by reknown builder Ray Baker of Washington state. The frame and overbuilt swing arm are very nice and together weigh a mere 27 pounds. Other parts include a TZ 250 rear wheel, New 1997 TZ bodywork, NSR 400 aluminum custom fabricated gas tank, and ZX7 front end, Ohlins steering dampener, Penski shock, English electronic tach, very nice...there is probably a few other items I forgot to add to this post; don't be afraid to ask questions. It would take very little effort to finish this bike and start competing.

We have some of the receipts on parts and labor including the Falicon work etc. We are asking $5000 or best offer. The bike resides in Washington but can be brought down.

Pics below........This bike started out as dream; a dream nearly fulfilled.

Thanks, Russ Rmeags@aol.com

Let me know what you guys think...

Hey Crusader, any idea of the total weight, and estimated power output?
There's not much of a market for singles racers in the bay area. Too Bad, try also posting on the WSMC forum.

We have not had the bike on the scale or on a dyno but it should weigh around the 265lbs range with about 65-70hp+.

Thanks for the visit.

I'm interested.
At the same time nervous...

What can you tell me about who designed the rear linkage-
Is that a rising rate or falling rate?
What was the thinking around where the swing arm angle would ultimately be?
Rake and trail numbers?
Wheel base?

What is the internal gearing? Stock?

I have more questions but those should do for tonight.

I will see if we can get some of those numbers from the gentleman that built the chassis and motor (Ray Baker of Seattle Wa). ....the chassis (and swingarm) is based on a mid 90's TZ250 (which is where you should be able to get some of your numbers from). This bike should be right there in the size of 450 single guys and right there with weight, minus the $10K competitive price tag of the new class out there running the 450 motors and dirt bike chassis. And they say it would be $20K to land a bike good enough for a magazine feature. See the article below.

For a guy wanting to race and have fun against the singles out there...take the Exotic SRX and have fun and be damn competitive...not too mention have one of the coolest bikes in the paddock.

The article below says that their bike will pull 110 mph on the top, My brother was clocked 137 mph with his race SRX in a stock chassis and wheels at Pacific Raceways in Seattle! This Exotic SRX should be equally as fast as the Spondon I rode in 2001, a bike that saw several wins and championships.

Since last time when the saliva all but disappeared, this bike appears to have resurfaced on the market. Here is the CL ad:

Yamaha SRX Road Racer - $4500 (Snohomish Co.)
Very Trick Lightweight Yamaha motor based road racer. It has been an ongoing project for a number of years, it has been started 3 times and never seen the track. There is too much to list but I will give you the meat of what this bike is about.
[...]

Please someone buy this bike so that I won't go into debt to get it for myself.

This bike is in Lynwood Washington at my brother's house..I am in the Bay Area. The right rider could easily win the Formula Singles championship on this bike..that was my dream.

It's a beauty!

Russ

Fackin gorgeous, but I'm not the right rider nor the right wallet for this exotic piece of toy.

I'd love to know more about the engine modifications, since I have two SRXen sitting in my garage...
