First stop on the way to pick up my 10K RC30 in San Diego was Paso
Robels... there sat an RC45 that was advertised on Rare Sportbikes For
Sale.Com... my friend Rich asked me to gave it a thorough inspection
and test hop... then Rich rode an RC45 for the very first time... He
liked it so much that we bargain a deal for 15K... now he's going to
ride his own RC45 anytime...

Next stop was Chris Dolan's place and to behold his 350 + bike
collection... never before has someone's garage delighted me with so
many rare and unusual bikes...

collection plus a bike once owned by Lester Wheels... Z1 Rickman...
not to mention a CB1100R... Grant also owns a large stash of HRC parts
for the RC45...

Jim and I try to replicate the tricky Devils at Honda by taking a
round piston and pressing it oval...

Oh fawk. Santas workshop plus a tour of Fort Knox combined. Better than booby pics, thank you sir.

The RC45 is a nice enough bike but for me the RC30 is sexy. The RC30 is IMO the Exotic bike. Nice bike!

are you sure that isn't Jim Granger with a g? I used to see that guy at the Rock Store all the time on an RC30 with Machesini wheels. drool.

not sure I would of recognized him, but the pic with the pipe looks about right.

heh, back around that timeframe I use to ride with a guy who had a decent income. at one point he was planning on getting an RC45. but then the 916 came out and he bailed on the Honda for the Duc. seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but by now the RC45 would be way cooler.

Thanks for pointing that out... it is Granger with a g...

Ducati's 916 had that lip stick and high heels thing going for it but the RC45 had better handling...

I met Russ at USARM camp from last year's USGP.

Thanks for sharing the pics, MR RC45. :thumbup
He and his X have raced CMRRA/M1GP off and on the past couple of years.

That's confusing, since the guy who owns Grainger Motor Circuit is Jim Grainger (different guy).

Never seen a close up pic of the NR750 piston before...

What's that that they say about square pistons and round bores? :laughing

Great pictures, thanks for sharing!

Great thread! :cool Count me among the envious. :laughing Yeah, the RC30 is among the most beautiful motorcycles EVAR! :drool
