So I drove by the scene looked pretty bad... I seen what I believe was a black 600RR with the front forks snapped off the bike. I didn't wanna stop as there was already about 20 people who stopped; I'd just be in the way.

Anyways on the way back the road was blocked for an airlift about 2 miles down 9 from the accident (where I snapped this pic).

Anyone know what happened and the status of the riders? I heard about 3 people were involved; a pair of riders 2up on one bike and another rider (believe the one who was airlifted away).

Either way best of luck.:|

Huh? What do I got to do with this? You just bored and decided to troll a little? It's nice outside you should go out.:wtf

But on the subject of squids I've seen sooo many damn riders in shorts and t-shirt the past couple days even a few 2up with neither rider wearing any gear...

That's actually a very well composed on-the-fly photograph.:thumbup
Too bad about the rider, but tis the season......

I was thinking the same thing.
Best to the rider...hope the 2-up folks are ok.

Ya know, I could give a shit less about what a person wears on a bike. Some asshole coming at me on the wrong side of the road? Different story.

Hope the rider gets well soon.

Lots of construction equipment, dirt and crap on 9. Good to chill and figure out which corners and lines are dirty and give yourself enough extra margin to change lines should you misplace a pile of dusty dirt on your line.

I stopped for a few minutes there, and heres what I could gather. Busa riding two up went wide slammed into back wheel of pickup and broke the rear axle of the pickup. Black R6 rider just laid his bike down cuz he had no where to go. Busa rider seemed all right, his passenger was very shaken up. R6 rider was laying in ditch with bad shoulder pain. Busa is in two pieces(front end gone).
R6 is fine totally rideable but should have had frame sliders and would have been a lot less damage.

oh man.. Hope whoever it is pulls through. I was so tempted to go out and take a ride this weekend but I got caught up in bunch of my car shit.

Hopefully someone knows the rider and can clue us in on what happened.

I showed up on the scene very shortly after the accident.

The busa rider was heading up 9 towards the 236 split/35. Busa rider blew a right hander and by the grace of go caught the rear portion of a truck going downhill. The back tire of the truck was flat. Both rider and passenger of the busa where up and walking around. The drivers JEANS were badly torn up and I could see the bloody impression of the glasses he was wearing smashed into the side of his head from the helmet impact. The Busa was in at least 2 pieces, with the forks still attached to the wheel but not the frame. Busa spilled a bunch of coolant everywhere..His passenger was wearing gogo boots...

The R6 rider had been out and about all day riding (IMHO) too fast for his skill level. He was likely new and wearing only a jacket and helmet. He must have come down the hill right into the accident scene and likely panicked, going right into the ditch. He was awake and laying in the ditch still with what Im assuming was a separated shoulder. Dude looked seriously shaken. His bike was definitely rideable but suffered what appeared to be cosmetic only damage.

Gear up and dont try to be fast....

Man I hope there isnt a oil/fluid mess on the road.

I cut my ride short today.. A lot of people out; bikes, cars, and high powered moto's out for the first time of the year.

Good luck to the downed riders, driver and pillion.

Plenty of bullshit going down there today. Hell, first time out there in months on a weekend and I missed the drama by a few hrs. I don't miss the macabre of the early afternoon ride on 9/35/84 thats for goddamn sure.

I'll let the commotion die down before I go back out there.. Chances are they will be stepping up the enforcement up there big time after this.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking, after seeing that I just lost a lot of interesting being out there today. I don't need a ticket for going 55 in a 45 or so on... :thumbdown

Thats the problem. Even with enforcement, it doesn't ever die down, not on the weekend. Its going to come to the point where LEOs will pull over people in the interest of safety and pass out equipment violation tix to what seems like random riders. Just like last year.

And I guarantee during the hottest days, it will be the worst. Because you know...thats when "the tires hook-up da best, yo".

wow a helicopter ride for just a shoulder would be a pretty expensive way to go about things.

was thinking the same thing -

maybe internal injuries, shock?

Who makes the airlift call? The first responders?

One thing I've never understood - 2up on a BUSA. just seems crazy to me.
