What: Meet in the middle meet
Where: Hearts & Daggers Saloon, Oakland. (Lake Merrit)
When: 6:00pm and on
Why: This idea brought to you by Motoproponent, who suggested a good bar, and because we miss the Skipolini folks, and figured meeting in the middle was better than riding out to Concord.
THE RIDE: As before, lets meet at Benders (close access to the highway), just before 6pm, and head out at 6pm, together as best as possible, allowing for some traffic. Last time, we had no problem making a purposeful lane sharing event out of it. Watch for the po, as they were waiting last time on the other side of the bridge.
so speed limit will be in effect. if anyone wants to go faster or slower, let us know, or pull out of the group and ride your own ride. safety will be top of the list for us.

Lets Meet in the Middle!
As much as we love to crash the Skips meet and they like to do the same lets get together at a place that is equidistant to each town. The Heart and Dagger Saloon. Is right in Oakland off of 580 and will be excellent as a DMZ . It just changed hands as it used to be The Serenader bar. This is a cool new bar in a very convenient location, and since it doesn’t really have a regular crowd, yet, we could very well set it on the path to becoming a BARFer and biker friendly watering hole.
It’s in Oaklamd!! Right by Lake Merritt on the same block as The Grand Lake Theater (if you need a huge flashing neon landmark )
From the City: Cross the Bay Bridge and head down 580 East. Exit at Grand Ave. Turn left on Grand, go one block and make a right on Lake Park. Heart and Dagger is on your left. If you’re on a Moto hop the curb and park next to the door, in a cage make a right into the parking lot under the freeway.
From Concord: Get on Hwy 24 West. Follow the Signs and merge onto 580 East. Then see above
If you’ll be coming in on 580 Westbound (from Hayward or Castro Valley and such) Exit at Grand and then continue straight from the off ramp as it dumps you right on Lake Park. The Heart and Dagger will be on your left.
There is a large cement apron out front that begs to be filled up with bikes. Right across the street is free parking for your cage (and other bikes that don’t get there in time to get a spot out front).
There is a large patio out back for the smokers. There is also plenty to eat nearby. Lanesplitters Pizza is next door and they have pie by the slice. I would recommend the Crepes at Rolling Dunes, Turkey Shewarma at The Holy Land, The Cheesesteak Shoppe, or The Burrito Shop.
So lets go out for a ride.
