It’s that time of the year again!
It’s Hawthorne time!
We are proud to announce our Fourth Annual Rydther Rally! Come on out and join us for three days of riding, sightseeing, food and fun in the Sierra. Meet new friends, and catch-up with old ones. If you can only manage a hall pass for two days, no problem – book a room for Saturday, and ride out to the event’s dinner gathering that evening in Hawthorne. On Sunday, enjoy some company on your way home over the mountain passes.
Dates: September 9, 10, 11 (Fri., Sat., and Sun.), 2011
Destination: Hawthorne, NV
Estimated 3-Day Mileage: 800~1,000 miles
Please note that this is not an organized or guided group-riding event. There are no officially designated leads or sweeps. This is a rally with pre-determined routes, common points-of-interest and destination for the participants. The official daily starting point and time are provided to allow the participants the greatest opportunity to enjoy the company of other BARFers and BARFettes along the way for the duration of the rally. Participants are free to band into groups of their own choosing, and at their own risk.
How to sign up:
1. Make your room reservation for 9/9 and 9/10/2011 now by calling El Capitan Resort-Casino at 1-800-922-2311 (or 775-945-3349). The room rate is 53.70 (tax included) per night when using the discount code of "BARF Motorcycle Group.” Currently, all rooms under BARF’s reservation have 2 double beds each – great for sharing!
2. PM NoGall with your full name, mobile number, emergency contact information (ICE), and reservation information (# of days).
3. Expect to receive, via PM, the Participant’s Package (including itineraries and details such as meeting time/location, routes, and more) in late August. Participant's Package has been sent to those already signed up. If you are missing yours, please PM NoGall.
Your responsibilities:
Sign-in and Check-in:
Be aware that we do have a sign-in/check-in policy. Please refer to the Participant’s Package when it becomes available.
Early Departure
If, for any reason, you decide to depart early from the rally, you must notify a rally coordinator, or ask another participant to relay your intent to a rally coordinator.

You are responsible for yourself
Riding a motorcycle is dangerous. You are responsible for your own safety. Proper riding gear, valid CDL/M1, vehicle registration and proof of insurance are highly recommended. You are also responsible for the good operating condition of your motorcycle. The good condition includes general mechanical condition, as well as the condition of wear items such as chains and sprockets, brake pads, and tires. Having your trip interrupted by a mechanical failure or balding tires 350 miles away from home can suck badly. Triple-check your gear and equipment. In short, YOU are the Captain of your own ship, so check yo shit!
Expenses
You are responsible for your own expenses. Budget for lodging, park fee(s), gas, food, beverages, and anything you may need along the way accordingly ...like bail.
Saturday:
Don't let Hawthorne fool you, there is a lot going on out this way. Participants can choose from a myriad of routes for Saturday including:
a ride out to Bodie Ghost Town,
a ride down hwy 120 and the rollercoaster road between Benton and Lee Vining,
a tour of Virgina City,
or down to Mammoth,
or east to Berlin-Ichthyosaur State Park,
or back up to Yosemite,
or, or, or stay at the pool and get hammer drunk. (I can say from personal experience that this is a VIABLE option! )
