Prior to taking delivery of the SP I was chatting with a friend about his camera truck that was in process of being completed. We mused over taking it out for some test runs and I would follow.

We had some drinks and others were brought into the project and it began to balloon into a much larger production. He had a friend with a CineFlex HD that was normally mounted to the front of a helicopter and was excited by the idea of shooting from a ground based vehicle.

I wrote a treatment and put together mood boards. We decided that Dainese would best be the costar of the show and pulled together a wardrobe.

We spent a total of 4 days shooting over a couple of weeks. First day was all running footage starting at 5am to get the sunrise and ending at 9pm to get the sunset. Two more days of running footage were shot and we spent a whole day shooting the garage sequence.

I then did 2 separate recording sessions with an amazing sound guy and had my bike looking like it had huge puffy zeppelins attached. The raw audio was so perfect I sat in my studio listening to the sounds...... lost.

Had a blast with a musician who pulled the music together in about 3 hours and start to finish less than a week.

Anywho... lots of stories around the production.

Biggest bummer about the shoot was my trailer was broken into the morning we were heading out to the redwood forest in Big Basin, then down to Big Sur, and the suit, helmet and gloves were stolen, thus totally fucking the rest of the production. I had posted a note in the gear section about the theft and was hoping to recover the stuff to finish the original vision of this project.

Tons of people to thank.

Let me know your thoughts both here and on Vimeo.

Cheers.

Nice tracking shots.

Certainly made me wish I wasn't stuck at work right now.

That was really cool! I love the camera shots from the moving vehicle. The music was stellar, too. Really very good! That totally sucks about the stolen gear, though... fucking thieves ruin everything.

Excellent short. Cinematography was captured well and edited well. Music was dope too.

AWSOME VIDEO!!! that looks like ducati made it for a tv add., maybe u could sell it to them to make up for the stolen goods... ;)

Thanks everyone for the comments. I have a few hidden easter eggs in the video that would be fun to find. A couple were discovered on the ducati forum and there is still one left that is very obvious to fans of movies from the mid 80s.

Was this just for fun? Or did you want to use it as a marketing tool? I have a copy of tech questions about a couple of shots, that I will ask later. It had a professional feel to it. Nicely done.

Wow! Very nice! The lighting was perfect!

I don't know about the technical stuff but I got a tingly rush watching that. I love getting out in that cool morning air and the way everything's kinda red with long shadows.

Thanks, that was cool.:Port
