Roll Call, PTT @ Laguna Seca, May 28

He will no doubt make everyone feel slow, so don't worry about it and just go out and have fun. :thumbup

Yeah, I think I overreacted. I mean, he only came in 5th this weekend in France, and was 32 seconds off the pace! Must've been draggin' an anchor or something!

Seriously, it doesn't bother me a bit. I get strafed by Dan and the instructors all day. One more stupid-fast guy isn't going to make all that much of a difference; I'll just be laughing a little more. Hopefully in the end I'll get to tell my grandkids that I got passed by a MotoGP rider. Twice. In one session! :rofl

Any NW folks coming???? I need a huge favore!

I'm really looking forward to Monday. I've been doing overdue maintenance on my track bikes today. Getting Chris to put on new skins Monday morning. It looks to be a beautiful day and we get to meet Stefan Bradl too.

If anybody has Brembo M4 calipers and has a set of track/race sintered Vesrah, EBC or Ferodo pads they want to sell me tomorrow at Laguna, please send an email (click on the name POTERE to send an email, not a PM here). If you have a Ducati 1098/1198 or GXR, you probably have M4 calipers.

Confirmed. Stephan Bradl is in da house.

Stefan was cruising around in the low 1:30 range. Not bad, I guess. :laughing

Anyone know who it was that went down in the corkscrew and had to leave in the ambulance? I'm hoping he's OK.

I'm sure he wasn't too impressed with the "A" group; lot's of slow guys today.

Dude was smooth, smooth, smooth. He wasn't going too fast in the morning, but once he figured out the track he definitely picked it up a bit. I am proud to say that, while he passed me every session that he was out there (and disappeared completely within a half-dozen turns), he did not pass me twice!

Great day. Thanks to Ken & Co. for another super Laguna experience.

Thanks for holding a great event. Weather was good, even if it was a little windy, and everything seemed to go pretty smoothly.

I only had one gripe about the day and it was with another rider. I backed off the throttle go give him some room so I could set up a pass at the exit of the turn, but he did some weird shit that almost got both of us hurt.

Looking for your friends in the grandstands and waving at them while on the racing line and chopping the throttle is DANGEROUS.

I did speak with the rider immediately after the session ended, told him that I almost ran into him when he lifted off the throttle coming out of a corner. I asked if he recalls waving to his friends in the grandstands, and he acknowledged that he did. At this point he got defensive tried to point the blame at me, claiming that the rider doing the passing has to do it cleanly. I agreed because he is correct, and admitted to a pass immediately after that was a little too close and apologized for that. I went back to the original point that what he did was dangerous and to not do it again because it could cause an accident. He told me it wasn't a race and go to to B group. :rolleyes At which point I just shook hands with him and left. It was pretty obvious he didn't understand what he did wrong.

Can PTT to remind riders during the rider's meeting to be predictable and not do weird shit on the racing line in the future? I don't mind the look and wave as long as they maintain speed. It's the sudden chopping of the throttle that will get someone hurt.
