I'm in the market for a decent pair of leather gloves (I've been using my dual sport ones). Any recommendations?

I know of Helimot and Held (as the gold standard), but I'd like to spend $100-$150 or lesser. No trackdays, no racing, no commuting. Just the occasional spirited ride. They should fit over my leathers (Kushitani).

This is all relative if you crash.

Head to a local moto shop, try on gloves, see what fits. Now a days if its full leather it should be better than the ones you're using.

I have two pairs of Held gloves that I quite like. They're starting to show wear now, so I wear other less expensive gloves for short trips (along with an older helmet) and save the good stuff for the longer rides.

One of the motorcycle magazines listed some Tourmaster gloves at a reasonable price (around $50), so I ordered some from the local BMW dealer. I think they came in at closer to $45.00. They clearly don't offer as good of protection as the Held gloves but they're good enough for running around locally.

I think I've given up on finding decent gloves for under $100.

I bought a pair or Cortech Adrennaline gloves at East Bay Moto for $99 + tax. They are a full gauntlet glove made from kangaroo and goat leather. I HIGHLY recommend these coming from A-Star SP2 gloves. These were softer than my 5 year old gloves and felt more broken in when wearing them in the store. You can also use your iPhone with the gloves on!

Edit: grammar... Typing on phone

Also... I'll never buy alpinstar gloves ever again... Price to value doesn't even compare to other brands.

Maybe you should share what size your gloves are. Surely there are others here who would be more than happy to take them off of your hands.

Let me tell you about gloves........

I wear motocross gloves when it's warm out. Or none. But that's another thread. One of our dealers here has a sale once a year, where they sell all their last years stock for about $1.00 a pair, my wife has several pairs for gardening, very moto stylish gardening, and I've got about 4 pairs I rotate through for general warm weather riding. When it's cold, I use the Alpinstar winter gloves I have, or a pair of Yamaha Star Winter Gloves, but those are kind of slippery and there is too much material in the palm, makes the grip diameter too large.

I have some Rev'It gloves that are awesome. Stylish, soft, well-made, etc. Price was $150, but they have a range of good ones between $100-200.

I see a lot of brands in the sub-$100 range. Fieldsheer, Scorpion, AGV Sport, Joe Rocket, Speed and Strength.

Any opinions? Any particular brands and models that you recommend?

STG has Cortech Adrenaline ( roo gauntlet ) for about 50 bucks.

Ahh too bad. They're comfy as heck. My favorite glove so far and I tried A LOT of brands.

Knox Recon, about $150. they've got armor and they're comfortable in temperatures well into the high nineties.

I have gone through them all, by far Helimot sells the best ones and they are worth it. I literally have 6 pairs of gloves, and only 2 that I really like.

1) Joe Rocket race gloves with outside stitching
2) Helimot gloves that I'm still breaking in.

WWW.aerostich.com has gloves that are sized to your hand, which is much better than the M, L, XL malarky that the typical First Gear or Joe Rocket brands go by.
