This is a ride to meet up with the Gary J ride here.

Meet Place: 76 Station, 14395 Big Basin Way, Saratoga, CA
Meet Time: Sun, 9:30AM, KSU 10AM 5/18/14 (Please be on time)

Things to know:
  • Arrive with a full tank of gas. We are meeting at a gas station. Easy fill up there.
  • Make sure your bike is in good operating condition. (Chain lubed? Check tire pressure?)
  • Everyone is expected to ride within their comfort level.
  • Safety is our priority.
  • All riding levels are welcome, Mellow pace required. PM or post if you have concerns.
  • All riders are expected to have a basic understanding of our planned route.
  • We will be riding the speed limit the entire day. NO EXECPTIONS.
  • This day is a day to show respect for Gary, in that, we will ride in one group. No squid crap will be tolerated.

Route part 1: (approx 21 miles, 40 mins)

Route part 1 -> 9 > 35 > STP. Meet main group there.

Welcome to follow me to the beach as well... (recreating the route we took 2 years ago)

Route part 2 -> 84 > Stage > Pescadero Rd > Stop at crash site for 20 mins > Pescadero State Beach for Memorial.

In.

I didn't know Gary, but judging by all the nice things I've read about him, I'm sure he would have been my friend too.

I have a few K miles on my R1, mostly commute. I've ridden 9 a small # of times between class (perk of west valley). Still have a lot to learn of course, is this ride for me?

This is a memorial ride for a fallen rider. This is EXTREMELY mellow. See the first link in Post 1.

Welcome to come out, meet new people, but its more of a gathered ride to the event, than a real weekend ride.

Assuming one of my bikes is done I am in ( two in the shop... :facepalm)

Anyone coming down from the North Bay area or even East Bay I can hook up with and ride with. I have done solo rides before, just wouldn't mind the company. Last year I rode with a group to the gas station..followed people who were familiar with the area.

Looking forward to another year celebrating Gary!
