new toy

:teethGarage got a little more fuller X1
After many months of looking and, testing different Motard type bikes I finally decided on one.
Lots of pluses and minuses for each brand, but what mattered the most is that this one did hit more pluses than minuses.

I like it!
I'm going to ride the hell out of it, and cant wait to take a long trip on it.

What did I choose?
Wait for it. its coming.

Always wanted to try the dorsoduro. Looks bad ass. Should make a good comparison with my hyper evo sp

I always loved the dorsoduro. I couldn't help but notice how poorly they sold though. I was at SJBMW and there were 3 brand new ones just sitting there they couldn't sell, heavily discounted.

What made you choose the Dorso over the Hyper or 701SM or Duke?

thanks

The three modes are pretty nice. Sport, Touring, and Rain.
I tried the Sport today.... lets say wheelie for safety is sooo much easier to do in first and second.
I'll have to remind myself to take things slow while I figure this bike out.
I love sitting up higher while splitting.

For now I'll keep it in Touring mode until I get used to the throttle.
So much easier to control at low speeds than a sport bike as well.

No Orange, no red, at least as the primary color. LOL
Husky seemed underpowered compared to the others.
KTM felt cheap too flimsy but not bad in the power dept.
Hyper was just over priced and the seat was horrible.
Those were just some of the negatives.
The Dorso and others can be lowered for shorter riders.
Soupys Performance carries lowering links that allow me to put my feet in a more comfortable position than the other bikes that stand equally or taller than the Dorso.
One inch makes the world of difference when one is vertically challenged.

I took a Dorsoduro 750 for a test ride after they first came out and the engine was weak. They were trying to tell me that it was just as good as a Hypermotard, but it was clearly missing something important in the engine department. The KTM 950SM also felt quite a bit better than the Aprilia.

Congratulations. That bike just screams "do bad things with me". :laughing

No, they are a beautiful and natural expression of moto love. :love

Been looking at those for a while. How is it off the line ? When does the power come up ? Redline at what RPM ?

Had Hyper 1100S and that thing had tractor power, handling too :)

Woo Hoo!!! Congrats on the new toy!! :banana

what did it for me

That's a sick bike! What made you choose motard over standard/supermoto?

Well not wanting a red bike scratched out the Ducati but I did ride one.
as well as the others.
Price wise the Dorsoduro was cheapest
Power was IMO good for what I wanted to do with it.
Its different, has no more bugs or issues than any of the supermotos.
It wheelies fairly easy in sport mode :teeth mental note:got to watch that.
maneuverable like ive never experienced compared to a sport bike that I have been riding since the dawn of time.
I like the color and the overall appearance of the bike.
