Yep, its happening... now. Huge group this year, 25 riders! Same basic format as the past years destinations, but with different routes to reach those destinations. Starting this thread a bit early as so many folks are either already on their way down, or will be going earlier this week. Main group will meet in Bola this Saturday, but nearly half are leaving earlier.

This thread will be a depository of updates from from folks on the trip, and eventually my own recap. I'm looking forward to both SMFMCjohn and Hadesomega's full detailed ride reports separately in this forum. :thumbup

I want to first thank a couple of folks this year who have really contributed to making this happen. First, 1962siia. Not only did he offer up one of his LaneSplitters pizza locations for our monthly meetings, he single handedly did more to actually organize this trip than anyone else. From lodging to gas. Huge thanks Daniel! Norcalslowpoke for organizing a new GPS and bringing Bubbles into the modern age while also tracking everyones emergency contact information. And Jackson.... while he isnt joining us this year, he offered his freshened up XR650R for me to ride 1000 miles through the desert when Bubbles mechanical health was in question. Not many folks would do that. Lastly, but not least, Dmitry... the favorite little brother I never wanted. :laughing D has kept track of all the riders, bikes, transportation etc. He has also provided many folks with navigation and GPS hacks so they can actually navigate! Everyone has contributed in their own way, but these folks went above and beyond! Thank you. :applause

25 riders this year with good mix of Baja veterans and new folks to the ride. 7 Hondas, 6 KTMs, 1 Husqvarna, 3 Suzukis, a Beta, 2 ATKs, 3 Kawasakis, and 2 Yamahas.

I hope you guys and gals have an amazing trip. I was in Cabo last weekend with my better looking half and she encouraged me to make this trip with a group some time this year. I would have loved to join you all, I had no idea that it was slated to occur so early in the year. Dang it.... next time.

A bit of info... I can't remember what the fuel cost was last weekend. But all my Uber/Taxi drivers went on and on about how expensive fuel was. I only saw a few vehicles actually getting fuel in the stations. But some had signs proclaiming "TENEMOS GASOLINA!"

Again, have a great time... ill be following along on here.

Laugh..... I knew I forgot something in all our pre trip meetings. They no longer distribute chewing tobacco in Baja as of about four years ago. The year I figured that out I resorted to buying packs of cigarettes and chedwing them like bandits. :wtf

I'm bringing down 5 tins of Copenhagen wintergreen longcut, will grab you a Grizzly if you prefer.

SFMCjohn and Kalle as they are already in Baja.... :twofinger

Do we have an extra bike or are we missing a rider? :teeth

CJ was using Alternative Numbers for bikes and riders. :laughing

Actually, he lists 24 bikes and 24 riders, but I am not sure that Scott's friend Hilary is on the list. If so, then he is correct that it is 25, and should add one more Suzuki to the top part. Not terribly important, though. The important thing is that we have a yuge group of riders and we're going to have an absolute blast on this trip. :banana :party :banana
