>> Notice to Everyone in the LEO Forum <<
If you want a proper analysis of your chances of beating a ticket and the elements of the specific violation you may plan on fighting, please give the specific code section(s) you were cited for (as they are writen on the ticket), whatever notes are found in the "notes/comments" section of the notice to appear, as well as what the officer asked you or actually told you that you did wrong, whether you agree or not.

Of course for entertainment purposes, feel free to not only explain your side of the story but, how nice or mean the officer wasto you... even if it includes how much you feel you were picked on, singled out or unfairly targeted due to the race/hair color/make/model/bike style/bling factor or whatever other bias you presume had to have played a role in your encounter, but without the specific code section(s), we just can't help you.

I am tired of asking and/or guessing. You lay it all out and we (LEOS here) will do our best to address your issues and offer some guidance. Thanks for understanding.

I assign virtual mojo to you, sir:thumbup

Many thanks for the props. As I've stated before, I'm here to help, just like BRASH and others. I hope you guys get something worthwhile from our participation in this forum. I'm glad to have a place where people can get solid advice from people out there enforcing the laws on a daily basis.

It is unfortunate the occasional "cop basher" wanders in to try to ruin it for everyone. I'm hoping that those that don't see the value of this resource will just skip it over, so it will be here for those that appreciate it.

LOL, you beat me to the punch, I just posted a sticky on this very matter! Good timing.

You guys rock btw, thanks for the posts, and taking the time. I think the notes on my last ticket said 'yer fuct' :laughing

Seriously though, you all are great, Brash, mm4l, silversvs, jpm, rel (even though he seems a bit bitter sometimes) :) , and any others I may be forgetting. Even through all the bashing I think we all apreciate your time!

I guess Owensdad missed the whole red truck day, minivan day, cellphone day conversation. Oh well, until further notice, and at the special request of Owensdad, we'll make it "R6 day" everyday! (Unless someone wants to change it to "VFR day") :teeth

It is click it or ticket week, does not apply if you are on your motor.

Hmmm...somehow, I don't think everyone gets it.

I'd be very happy if Blue-K1200GT doesn't get a day.

We all know it's never Harley day, right?! :teeth

Good work TerryN, thanks for your time too!

Dude, that sucks! In case you didn't know.. the plate must be secure and cannot swing (see 5201 CVC). 2 zip ties is a violation.

Get some screws for that plate 'cause 9/26 is "Zip Tie Monday!" All swinging plates with cable ties get stopped for a fix-it citation! :laughing

so im not sure if this is still open for help from the LEOs, but heres my stab at it

before i go, i must say that i recently got a red light violation from a camera in san carlos. i have to pay and attend traffic school by the 19th of april

so i was humming along on my bike on 280S today when i noticed a figure on the left of the carpool lane. a split second later i realize its prob a cop, so i slow the hell down to 65. he starts to move his bike as i near and he matches my speed. i look over to him and he thumbs me over. "SHIT!" is all i could say..

i pull over and he tells me i was speeding, showing me his radar gun (81mph). iono how to dispute it, so i start to think

he then asks for my liscense and registration, which i hastily provide for him, and he tells me to wait by my bike and he will be back shortly. he starts writing into his log book and after about 2 minutes, comes back

i decided to tell him that i was a new rider and my hands were numb, hence unable to to adequately gauge my speed as i needed to look into the turn first. he told me that hes on the "speed team" and that "everyone is getting a ticket"

after the ordeal, i notice that there are about 5 cops on motos (as was he) that were just picking drivers like one would pick crops. one after another just handing out tickets

i asked him what he was doing with the team and he said that they are here to enforce speeds because there have been many accidents lately. i thought to myself, im a moto though T_T

in any case, heres more detailed info

1. section you were cited for: 22349(a)v.c, speed
on the ticket, there is this. (#1 1465.) no idea what that means, and its verbatim
2. city where you were cited: san jose
3. your vehicle info (not required, but helps alot): triumph daytona 650
4. what the OFFICER TOLD YOU: read above
5. what you TOLD THE OFFICER: read above
6. a brief description of the location (ie...lights, what type of intersection, what type of street, etc.....)
->going 81 in a 65 zone =(
7. Officer: beat 282, area 340, S.Simmons with
radar: ux015500

i definitely would want to avoid this, especially since i cant do traffic school. i cannot afford the increase in insurance =(

any help would be deeply appreciated

djaft3rb3ats,

You should probably start a new thread with this request.

The advise I'd offer you is that the speed enforcement teams are very sharp, and very professional. You are not likely to win on a technicality, and there isn't much of a safety argument you can make in this case. Freeway tickets are very difficult to fight.

Sorry, but I doubt you'll have much luck contesting this one.
