aight... i got a few scraps of info... it was recovered in truckee after a high speed chase. CHP was chasing 2 guys on 2 different stolen motos (mine was one), and they tried to ditch the cops down a dirt road. it dead ended, they were caught (under what circumstances, i'm not sure).

i couldn't get a solid answer on damage to the bike, so i asked "are there dents in the tank?" they said a few on the right side. and that it looks like it'd been laid down on both sides (left side was my fault...dunno if there was additional binnage). but it still appears to be ridable.

it had blue spray paint on the left as well when recovered.

now, the shitty part... meh. $485 for me to pick it up on monday. it's available for pickup now, but i'm in buttonwillow right now, shooting trackdays with zoom zoom...so i can't go until monday.

if it'd been recovered 3 days ago, i woulda had $485 to get it back! argh! but i spent all my money on buying an 87vfr...

anyone got 485 blings i can borrow? :laughing as soon as i get kitty back, i'm gonna sell the VFR and kitty is going into tigre mode (street fighter action).

melissa called me earlier today and says "i've got really really really really really really really good news!" :D

thats BS why should you have to pay to get your bike back? Freaking impound yards are a ripoff.:mad

glad you are getting your kitty back though

+ 1 you got jacked and now you have to pay money to get it back...eh..the world works in weird ass ways...but the main thing is...you got your bike back...:) :thumbup

well joe i am glad you got it back.

and to 2sane, thats right people should start up a bussiness and invest 100s of thousands of bucks into it to not get paid for it :rolleyes. that $90K tow truck should be used for free by the public, never mind the $4k per truck a month insurance.

what about insurance on the bike? wont they cover the impound?

Glad to hear it.

I hope the “unknown circumstances” went something like this....

Officers took the opportunity of the dead end road and beat the thieves senseless. Then sprayed them with pepper spray for effect.

Uhmm.... your honor the subjects were resisting arrest.

I've got no problem with the tow yard charging for storage fees. It just seems kind of screwed up to make the person who had his vehicle stolen, through no fault of his own, pay for said fees. Insurance should cover it, and/or reparaitions should be sought from the thief, if caught.

Perhaps, when these assholes get to court, you should ask the judge to add the $485 to their fine for victim reparations. No harm in writing a letter and asking.

I dont mind paying for impound fee's if I did something wrong. somebody ripps me off and I have to pay for it? shouldt the LEO's be placing them in a hold status for a few day's for the owner to pick them up and not charge them, and insted place the fee's on the person who stole it in the first place. thats my gripe.

ay jackass..i mean joe...what's your paypal acct.? ll throw u a $10 spot just because your vfr looks and sounds like shit :twofinger

Wish you could sue the guy who stole your bike for damages, the $485 your out, and tack on a couple hundred extra for all the trouble they caused in your life including going down to pick up your bike. (transportation fees to get your bike and time out of your life should be another couple hundred $400-$500 at min.)

Depending on the damage (looks like both sides are going to need replacing & the tank, tail section?) I honestly think that the theves owe you about $8,000 to $10,000. If they cant afford it they should be put to work in some harsh environment making $3.50 an hour until they pay you off.

FYI the T-cat was not insured for theft; liability only.

CruzinZ, ever thought about a career in politics? I'd vote for you! :laughing

+100

It seems like the criminals are treated far better than the victims these days! :wtf
