I took a ride to Gardnerville, Nevada on Saturday to visit my parents. My wife had been up there since Wednesday, helping my Mom do some decorating at their new home. I didn't have my digi cam with me on Saturday, my wife had it with her, but took it on the ride home Sunday. I did get to shoot some video along Wentworth Springs Rd. on Saturday. Its a great ride on a sportbike and was a highlight of the weekend:

I stopped for a quick shot of Lake Tahoe. The fire hadn't started yet.

I peeled off Highway 50 and rode up Ice House Road. Its a nice, twisty, and in spots, very scenic, ride.

That does it for this week. Thanks for looking & ride safe.

Great pics. I believe that lake is Stumpy Meadows.

Thanks for sharing!

Off topic... Gardnerville... I like that Chinese restaurant right next to the Best Western. Check out Wally's hot springs in Genoa... Good on-site restaurant too. :thumbup

according to Thomas Guide, that is Lake Edison off Wentworth Road.

Nice pics...looks like it was a great ride.

Thanks NoGall. I'll have to try them out some time. I haven't spent enough time in Gardnerville yet to know what's good and what's not. Not that its a huge town, but I've only been there a handful of times.

Cool stuff :thumbup

Now to check out the vid. :later

:smoking

The Chinese food near the Best Western is the best in Gardnerville (its actually in Minden but close enough). However, it really isn't all that good as far a Chinese goes.

For food in Minden/Gardnerville I highly recomend the Wild Horse just to the east of the 395/88 junction. They consistantly win best burger (the BBQ bacon is stellar) and the owners are really cool.

If you are looking for quick food at any hour, the Carson Valley Inn has an awesome coffee shop called Katie's. Its great food, you forget that your at a casino. JT's is awesome, and in a similar vein so is the Overland. Both Basque, and just down the street from eachother.

Wentworth from Ice House to the lake is, in my opinion, the best road in the Sacramento region. Smooth, flowing and great corners. Good vid and pics. thanks

We are so blessed, imagine living in Nebraska!! Love that area, +1000 on JT and the Overland, Fandango in Carson for a good French restuarant. Also Props to the
Suz/Kawi/Honda dealer in Carson, unscheduled brake job on a Sat afternoon got me home once. Good pics, Mike!

Wow!!! Those are awesome pics.

I love the restaurant inside the Topaz Casino. The cheapest one (that open 24/7) is the best.

It is, however currently crispy after a nasty little attic fire almost gutted the whole casino. They should be open in a couple months. (I'm assuming that you are refering to the Topaz Lodge at Topaz Lake.)

No. No it's not. It's terrible. It's lumpy. It's full of decreasing radii corners. There's cops everywhere. Really. You shouldn't visit. It's worse than 9. Really. Stay away.
