    3- Buyers, BEWARE!!!

    • Pricing - Know the current market value of the bike. Check Kelly Blue book, NADA, CycleTrader, Ebay, Craigslist (even though some people on Craigslist are asking non-realistically high prices and will never be able to sell the bike at their asking price), and know what the current market value of a similar bike is before considering a purchase. Consider the maintenance work or fixes that YOU need to do to the bike, and factor that into the price. It is ok to pay more for a bike that has had all of the maintenance work done to it recently, or pay less and get a bike that needs some work, but you must know this in advance and be ok with it.
    • Inspecting the bike: if you are not experienced yourself, have a mechanic or an experienced friend check the bike before making a purchase. Crashed bikes:This is even more important if you are buying a bike that is being sold at a cheaper price with damages that the buyer is required to fix. In these cases, doing a frame check that will show any frame/fork/geometry damages is HIGHLY recommended. Do NOT simply rely on the information that the seller is providing, even he/she may not be aware of all the problems. Have the crashed bike checked and know what you are getting into.
    • Clean title, Salvage title A clean title doesn't mean the bike is free of serious issues. A Salvaged title doesn't mean the bike may have any problems. Every case is different. Some bikes are seriously damaged in a crash, but an insurance claim is never made on them, so they still have a clean title. Some bikes have had mostly cosmetic damages in a crash, but the insurance company decided to pay off the bike and salvage the title rather than spending the money to fix it. Know what you are getting into and don't make any assumptions based on what the seller is telling you.
    • Registration: Know about the current registration status of the bike. Check with DMV if you have any questions about any possible back fees and other title/registration questions (out of state title, no title with bill of sales only, etc.) before purchasing the bike.

    4- DO NOT make your opinion known in the seller's ad

    • Comments within a sale thread should be on topic and educational. Aggressive critiques and inside jokes will not be tolerated. Constructive dialogue is a valuable feature of the barf classifieds section and community as a whole. Flame wars and unsubstantiated accusations help neither seller or buyer. Don't fuck it up, because the next step is disabling the "reply" feature entirely.
    • If you disagree with a price, keep it to yourself. The seller has set the price. If you don't like it, don't buy it and move on. If you really feel strongly about it, then PM the seller.
    • If you are interested in an item, feel free to PM, email or contact the seller privately. Feel free to post if you need clarification... however, your post should be in line with above mentioned rules.
    • If you are aware of a serious issue with an ad (SPAM, stolen goods, a frame damaged bike being advertised as a 'never crashed' bike, etc.) please PM a moderator about it.

    5- DO NOT SPAM the classifieds section on BARF

    • Spamming entails using only the classifieds sections of BARF without taking part in other sections of BARF (regardless of whether the ad is for a personal item or a business.) The appeal of BARF classifieds is to enable and connect BARFers with some established history on BARF to one another.

      BARF isn't craigslist, ebay, cycletrader, etc. Buyers who are looking to buy from random strangers do so on one of the above mentioned sites. Those who only post in Classifieds sections and don't take part in other parts of BARF are no different than any other random sellers on Craigslist, etc., and should use channels other than BARF to try and sell their items.
    • If you're affiliated with a store/shop, please contact budman regarding sponsorship options. ALL non-sponsor commercial posts will be deleted. Site sponsors should post using only one account that is assigned a BARF SPONSOR tag.
    • We encourage the use of the classifieds by active contributing members. New members may post in the Classifieds forum after establishing minimal history on BARF (15 days and 15 posts). If you actively attempt to circumvent these minimum requirements only to post in classifieds, your account may be suspended. After reaching these minimums, posting only in the classifieds without taking part in other sections of BARF may result in being banned from BARF.

    6- DO NOT repost funny/strange/not-related-to-you ads from Craigslist or elsewhere on BARF or anywhere else for that matter.

I have a long winded description I set up to explain what I can. Those who have seen this bike or race in the AFM have probably looked at it.

Eligible for several AFM classes: 250 Superbike, 450 Superbike, Formula 3 (was Formula Singles), Formula 4, and any lightweight classes the rider qualifies for (clubman, old folks :afm199, AFemme)

In short, I've lowsided it twice. Turn 3 THill on my 3rd lap with the bike. Replaced the right peg. Turn 7 at Sears point. Replaced windscreen with shorter (better tuck) and right peg again. Rest remains massaged by the asphalt. Wish my suits and helmets crashed this well. The motor, for those naysayers, had +- 4 seasons on it before a screw came out of the stator and exploded the transmission. Rebuild of all seals, bearings, gaskets, and effected parts by Yamaha Mechanic.

Bike is painted white and the rest of what you see are decals. All removable and it is what I do on the side. I'm happy to put your numbers on the bike and more if you pass the attitude test.

Finished 1st in Formula singles 2012, 2nd 250 SB, and in 2013 finished 2nd in both classes due to mechanical. Won all but one race when I completed the race in 2013.

2008 Yamaha YZ450 base and turned into a road racer. This is the concept from 2009 with Roland Sans and others building the 'Super Single.' This version is a mix of GP Tech and Roland Sans ideas. It is an absolute blast to ride and won me several races in the last two AFM race seasons. Time to move on :mad...

Basics: 2008 Yamaha YZ450 Titled in my name and red sticker current - $8000 (BARF: $7250)

Price above is for everything... Starter, spares (clutch, bar ends, brake pads, master cylinder, etc), new Bridgestone slicks, spare front wheel, tire warmers, and probably more. Ready to go racing and I'll pay for Dave Moss to setup the bike for you. If you go to sears point I'll come out and help, give tips, whatever is needed. I LOVE this bike and only have to sell to be responsible.

- 2008 Yamaha YZ450 (never seen dirt use, expect my off track excursions)

- Unk miles or hours. I have two AFM race weekends on the rebuild
- Basically an 08 YZ450 frame, motor, swingarm.
- R6r Front end (Forks, wheel, brake caliper, master cylinder)
- Ohlins rear shock with height adjustment (We had this custom build and valved by PSI)
- Graves ignition module (have oem as well)
- Graves oil recycle (allows oil spit out crankcase to return to motor)
- Graves fuel catch (supermoto stuff)
- GPX Data tool/dash (Does a wonderful job)
- Supermoto Engineering (I think) spool/axle adjustment
- Wave Rotor, Galfer pads (mid grade I'll have to check)
- Bad ass caliper bolts, titanium? They weigh nothing.
- Valter Moto Rear sets (04 R1 pattern I think) with adapters making them adjustable
- Vortex front and rear sprockets (I have several different sizes for our local tracks)
- Galespeed rear wheel (rarely needs weight with Bridgestone slicks)
- Roland Sans Bodywork (can't get any longer, planned on using RS250 body work next)

Lowered barf price. Will sell bike by itself if you don't need the extras (AMB, tire Warmers, starter, spares, etc).

What did it take to mount the r6 front end? Are those custom triples with a different offset?
 
Sorry for the delay, I went to CC Camp and had no service. Wet riding this weekend.

The triples are R6r and the steering stem/bearings are GP Tech design. Thanks for the kind words, I wish I could race this season. I had a great time in the AFM.
 
Sunday bump... Willing to design a package that works for you. I'm quite flexible, would be a great way to race Sonoma with AFM.

Warren, Thank you. I'm willing to work out a deal for the bike with/without the accessories and spares. I have more than I listed (new sprockets, chain, pads, bar ends, the electric starter and a roller starter, tire warmers, etc).

One could always start the bike with the kick starter. I didn't because of the bodywork and rearset location but that could have been easily adjusted. I liked the roller starter because it worked great and well.... it looks bad ass! Used it to start some two stroke older 750s at the Yamaha appreciation event.

Another bump before going to the CL and other forums. Can provide support at AFM round 2.
 
I checked the valves every race weekend or 2-3 trackdays. They needed adjustment only one time in the two seasons. When doing the rebuild I was told that the cylinder, valves, etc all looked great. Rebuilt because the transmission ate a screw which caused a complete failure (locked the rear wheel). Obviously keeping it cool is a big deal. I replaced the water pump seals once after my dirt bike (WR450F) showed signs of weeping and a fear of losing fluids.

Aside from changing the oil, maintenance was almost not needed. Has fresh fluid and a recent valve check as I prepped it for this season but won't make it out.

Willing to help at Round 2 if buyer is racing. Will seperate items (roller starter, GPX, spares, new slicks, etc) to lower price if you want only the bike. PM me offers if you'd like.
