I need a pair of mid-pipe joints on my titanium exhaust system tack-welded. The rattling at idle is really obnoxious, it sounds like a really bad case of a loose cam chain.

Anybody have any recommendations nearby me?

I would call Advanced welding in Mountain View and ask if they could do it. I know that is not east bay but it is not that far across the bay from you either.

They might work since I work in the peninsula, thanks!

Dennis at Norman Racing in Berkeley is THE MAN, he will be your huckleberry

Or check Curt Winter at BTR Moto in Hayward. I don't know if he does titanium but he may.

Dennis Echeverria not only is a great guy, loves bikes, and works in a place with vintage F1 cars, he's an artist. I need a bung welded onto a Ti system and he's going to get the job, natch.

This. He will weld it while you gawk at F3 cars, and shoot the shit about old Moto racers. After its all said and done you will still have money for lunch. I wouldn't take my welding needs to anyone else in the bay, period.

I could swear they were F3... But I'm not a car guy. Impressive none the less. Last weld job I gave him was 3Ti bungs on my 675r. Dude welled them up (all prep done) BSd for an hour, and charged me $40 OTD. I was shocked, and a flawless job.

Alas, Curt is out of Ti rods and tig wire. My own motorbike is kinda stuck at his shop until I find some Ti for him to complete the project.

Hopefully Dennis can spare some parts. Thanks for the lead, guys.

I tried to reach Norman Racing by phone yestereday twice but couldn't. Maybe they're closed on Mondays?

Anyone have recent repairs to their Ti exhaust. This long lived indentation just gave birth to the hairline crack above it.

Norman racing specializes in Alphas and Advanced has moved down to Campbell.Cracked Titanium pipe.jpg

Did you speak with anyone at Norman racing? They actually do a lot of other stuff beyond alfa romeo.
You also might reach out to 900SS, he may be able to point you in a direction.

that's a bit more than a hairline. you may be better off replacing that slipon. depending on the vendor you might be able to purchase just the outer sleeve and reuse the guts.
