2019 - 2026 Wednesday Night Drags Sonoma

How did you do, Joe?
Work and school will keep me away from WND for a while.

Broke out in the first round along with Doug. NO WIND AT ALL, first 2 practice rounds, then it came up a little bit but less than normal. I dialed a 9.37 and ran a 9.33. Previous runs were a .41 and .38 so I thought I was safe......

The "no wind" part is as ironic as it is rare.
PG&E shut the fucken world down for the "no wind".
I had to drive from Sonoma to Vallejo....in total darkness until I went past the track.
I was gonna ask my daughter about the car/bike count but I might as well just ask you.
I'm guessing it was pretty low.

Yep, we were all done before 9pm. Normal number of bikes but not as many cars. Still waiting on the wind....

Five Wednesday night drags left for the year. If it's dry there will be racing on 10-16-19. Here is a cool pic from Sacramento Raceway on 10-5-19. There was testing in the day and grudge racing at night.

We had 12 bikes racing last night. Kevin Benson on his Drag Harley took the win. I went out in the Semi's with a red light. Wind died down late and a lot of break outs.

My best that night was a 9.39. A lot of wind early then it died down later. Opposite of what it normally does. As the wind died, the track got colder and then traction down the track became a problem. Dough went out in the first round and then I went out in the second. I got 2 point to "push" my lead to 10 points with 4 races to go!

The red zx14 was in the 10's, then he lost one of the wheels on his wheelie bar and he tried running without them. He was in the 11's after that. Big change for him not having the bars and really messed him up.

I am sure it will come down to the wire. 5 points for a win, I am sure Doug will get another win before it's over. I just have to get points anyway I can.

Doug is tough (as well as being one helluva good guy) but he's been off this year.
I like your odds.

Yes, has been a crazy year and would not switch places with anyone. Kevin Benson is coming on strong with the Harley drag bike. Tom Myers had a perfect light (.000) on the old Yamaha 500 single and Alfredo on the supercharged Harley Road king had a personal best also, 10.59 @ 133mph. Would be nice to keep having high bike counts for the rest of the season. We had more bikes than some of the car classes!

10-23-19 Race day again. Counting tonight, only 4 events left for the season. If you have never tried it now is the time. Sonoma raceway (Sears Point/Infineon) Wednesday night drags. From stock, mild to wild, run what ya brung.

Another no-can-do for me unless PG&E kills the power at UC Berkeley.
Before you say that would take out the track too, not so....2 weeks ago Sonoma Raceway was the only thing lit for miles.
I'll be with you guys in spirit though.

We had a up and down night at the track on Wednesday. Started off great, no wind and low car count so we made a bunch of practice runs. Had a pretty good idea of what to dial in for eliminations and then we had a big time delay due to a medical issue. We had to wait a good 45 minutes before the restart and low and behold, the wind came blowing down. Now it's a guessing game for dials and somehow I manage to run my quickest pass of the night, even after letting off at the finish line and break out in the first round.. Kevin Benson is on a roll and took the win again on his wheelie bar Harley.

That was on my break out pass in eliminations. I was letting off and still broke out on my 9.38 dial.

Now this is on a good/great weather day with no regard for the clutch.
