TV Shows I am enjoying …and Movies

Gangs of London is INSANE!!!!!!! I'm also watching, with my Wife, The Lioness. It is a bad ass military series with very strong female characters. Oh, and I'm also watching Cross.
Lioness is fantastic! Cruise’s ex wife, whatshername, is outstanding as a type A potty mouth. Wish it was 20 seasons long.

I discovered The Agency. Sucked me in. Fantastic. Excellent acting. I binged first 5-6 episodes now gotta wait a week for the next episode since Im caught up.

Also started binge-watching Landman. Another Taylor Sheridan creation. Some of the acting is average (Thorton’s wife and 17-yr old daughter played by a 27-yr old). Some of Thorton’s lines are too unnatural and appear written with the intent to be quoted forever, e.g., Go ahead. Make my day.

I can’t remember reading it here, but I just watched American Primeval. For Western history nuts like me, the Mountain Meadows Massacre is an overlooked event and that’s what this short series is about. Very violent, so some of the fairer gender might not like it, as was the case with Ms. BA. The violence and characterizations are perhaps over the top especially that of Brigham Young played by that Sons of Anarchy guy, Kim Coates. Doing a fact-check afterwards revealed that there is more accuracy than supposed while viewing. Most of the shit really did happen. My GGGrandfather came overland in 1859 and kept a diary. He was very paranoid coming through SLC.

Dem Mormons are savages! The Mrs and I are also watching (1 episode to go) and really enjoying it

'Corner Gas'

Canadian oldie available on YouTube. Sardonic, ironic, and comedic. Each episode zeros in on one aspect of the culture and zings it without mercy. Corner Gas is that place you pull into with an empty tank, three hundred miles from bumfuk, and find yourself in several Rod Serling moments.

Get some.

Watched the new season of the Night Agent. Totally incongruent to last season. Save your screen time for other, better shows.

Samsung TV has an entire channel playing farscape continually. It's been fun to rewatch it again.

I can't get Westward without paying $$...AND I have HBO, which is only good for the ID content lately, really.

I have 3 or 4 of the common streaming services. If a movie/show isn't on one of those, I just put on my peg leg and shoulder parrot. Like, there's a few things on Paramount+ I want to watch but it's not worth it to me for those few things and majority of the rest of content is cross hosted on other services anyway.

I will give it a go. Thanks.

I got Paramount+ solely for watching Star Trek content

Got hooked about 1966 and after a few episodes I noticed the writers or the source material, or both, were in the sci-fi books I was reading. Roddenberry knew the good stuff back then, and it was more profound than the English Lit my high school teachers were so enamored of.

Wouldn't some of those old plot lines be great with the CGI tech of today? Heinlein, Herbert and Clarke would be all in.

I enjoyed the first 3 episodes last night. Your review was spot on and while I was not roaring out loud I had some good laughs and a lot of smiles. The charactors are good fun. Specially Mom and Dad. Mr. Butt did a good job with the show.
