World swimming bans transgender women from competing

On the surface it seems simple but I’m probably like most people and just never dug into nuts and bolts of the issue.
Trans athletes don’t want to play with men, women don’t want to play with trans, so why don’t women have the same rights as trans to say who they get to play with. If men are not objecting to playing with trans and trans still want to participate then let the games begin.

If women are uncomfortable sharing showers with trans athletes displaying their nuts and bolts then why are they expected to just suck it up and get over it. Ignoring they’re concerns has played a significant part in a much worse outcome.

I get this, all of it, and don't disagree but do you really believe the people pushing these policies lately think that's their end goal? (That's a rhetorical question because I know you.) This has been a talking point for years for very valid reasons but now it's being weaponized, which is unfortunate, to serve an intention that is not relevant to the main point.

Ptrap this if you need to, Bud.

Had to look back to see who caused all the trouble....it was you! ....with that icky hyperpartisan propaganda channel, for shame.

But yeah, the story of this person is absurd.

(two things are true at the same time)

Well, I mean, Climber was sleeping at the wheel, so I just had to jump in...

What followed - oh my...

Sorry to see some regular posters seem not to be members anymore.

Trans women are women. End of story.

Doesn't seem that hard. Grab the top 1000 and ask them two questions, on a scale of 1-10 how much they care about Lia competing, and on a scale of 1-10 how much they care about ham sandwiches. Anything less than a 5x delta means they don't care very much.

Just an observation. . . . .people who speak correctly, without using slurs, slang or popular idiom are able to also use slurs, slang and idiom when desired.

While the opposite is most often not true.

One rider in our group had his doctorate in mechanical engineering but at the coffee stop you couldn't spot him from his grammar and usage. However, none of our group would be able to hang with his work crowd when they are discussing the parameters of new problems.

Then there's me. A fan of historical novels. My profanity from the eighteenth century is obscure enough, yet raunchy enough, to be both insulting and puzzling at the same time.
That is interesting and your historical take is funny. :thumbup

Have been at the race track since being 21 I got a huge does of verbal raunch thrown in my normal vocab, but being the same biz dude shortly after I learned well how to flip the switch for biz where being articulate and respectful really counts.

Trans women are women. End of story.

Depends on the story. In competitive sports, no. Biological men shouldn't be competing against biological women. Biological men will always have an advantage versus biological women.

Serena WIlliams has even said that despite her dominance she'd lose in straight sets in 10 minutes to most male tennis players.

I just like the fair level playing field for top female athletes chasing their dreams.... so I care to some degree.
it’s pretty simple. Change the sorting criteria from “men” and “women” to some other criteria that creates the acceptable pool of competitors. But then don’t complain when outliers who meet those criteria are still present.

Example: The IBC changes its criteria to exclude Imane Khelif from participating. The Olympics did not. Folks complained that she shouldn’t have been allowed to compete. But by the rules of the sanctioning body, she was. If folks don’t like that, change the rules. But don’t try to de-legitimize folks competing fairly under the rules of the contest.

If you want a “fair” playing field, create one. Don’t shit on the attributes of players and ostracize them.

I have not got the time nor the expertise or interest to invest my time.
Not sure why you would think I should. BARF is enough of a time sink :laughing

In professional sports that line a lot of people's pockets, there is no fair level playing field.

Some athletes have better performance enhancing drugs not available to other athletes. People either don't know this or do know this and just don't care.

I care as much about this topic as any other I’ve posted about on the barf.
If it’s throwing other off maybe we could apply a 1-5 star rating to our own posts so other can gauge or passion on a given topic.
I would rate this one at two stars.

The rational solution is clear. Trans-men are not Cis-men. They are Trans-Men. Trans-women are not cis-women, they are trans-women.

This is reality, it is true and unclad in the grotesque bias of an outrageous demand for inclusion or an ignorant need to discriminate against the identity of others.

Understanding this truth and accepting it as a rational being, one can only draw the unbiased conclusion that the only model that makes sense is for the associated sporting conferences to offer either all inclusive gender-less sports events (all flavors of men & women compete together) or in gender segregated sports, separate Trans Men & Women Competitions are set aside in their own groups.

Does trans-men and trans-women actually tell you anything?
