Mushu doesn't mind the Miele. He always was a pretty fearless boy.
Same with Mercer, Apollo and Mae. Sundae is totally fearless and tries to “help” me vacuum by inspecting the floor exactly where I’m trying to go, and she is also in charge of cord management.

My sisters and ex's had cats that I didn't pay much attention to but Kattegat is the first for me. Not looking forward to that day

I love her. :love

How do you convince them that you don't want a freshly cleaned stomach or severed head left at the doorstep?

Not looking forward to that day
It's very important to NOT look forward to that day.

It's simply not worth the time, why take away anything from what you have worrying about something you can't do anything about.

It's natural around a time like this to perhaps dwell on it, but just shut it down.

She spent around two hours today either lying on top of or underneath my jacket.

After that it was take a nap on my lap. Her routine when I sit at the laptop is to walkup behind and scratch my butt until I turn around to play with her and her string or let her sit on my lap. I have to use my backpack so she's comfortable and don't roll off.

And which one is the villain clawing at the furniture? It has to be the grey one - no, wait, they're both grey!
No fancy scratching posts for these brothers. These two are claw masters. Fortunately, they use this old recliner that we almost tossed when we had different furniture. They love it to pieces.

Are you refusing their precious gifts?!?
Yes! And so you know, that method isn't working...

He's an outside cat anyway. I'm surprised those little guys are still around. I've seen all manner of wild animals like mountain lions, bobcats, coyote, etc. I swear there was a coyote following a bear one night but that might have been a dream.

We have a piece of furniture like that! It’s a huge IKEA chair that takes up way too much space. I hate it. It’s shredded and stained and they absolutely love it. It’s a chair-shaped cat tower. I’d love nothing more than to get rid of it but it keeps most of the other furniture in one piece. I think we’re stuck with it.

We actually did that for Bella.

We bought her a chair so she would leave everything else alone.

It mostly worked, she gave it a lot of attention, more than most other things, but it wasn't perfect. She was also fond of the dining room chairs.

The funny thing, after she passed, I put it up on one of those selling sites (to give it away), and someone snapped it right up. They actually had a matching chair, and they were going to get it reupholstered.

Alright! Giving me hope for the future, berth! 😄

My girl kitty has a couple of those cardboard scratching boards on the floor. She's so cute. She will come in, run to one, claw the shit out of it and then go about her business. It's not like she didn't just come from the outside with all the trees she could ever want to scratch.

I have two of those scratching board that she likes for sleeping on as well as scratching. I assume it’s because they’re well vented and therefore cooler than lying on the floor or bed.
She’s got small holes in my two year old couch and the corner shredded on the boxspring of my bed.
I’d like to get her an indoor tree to climb, one that doesn’t outgrow the place 😕
